About
The forward toe-on in quite a rare skill in modern elite gymnastics, existing in a purgatory where it’s so much more difficult than so many other C elements (like the back toe-on) yet not rated any higher as a result of that difficulty. It does fulfill the grip change requirement, but also in that case there are simpler ways of doing that. The forward toe-on requires quite a bit of precision to get those feet in just the right place to make contact with the bar yet not crash on it.

Not to be ragging on the skill. It’s more impressive and interesting and better integrated into routines than janky random skills that just exist to fulfill the requirement, though these days it seems like only the Downie sisters (and Bridget Sloan before them) have recognized that as all three have performed the toe-on 1/2 in their routines.

Value

Because gymnastics is a comedy, not a drama
