Named after
Wilhelm Weiler (CAN) (Man)

About
A relatively uncommon skill in women’s gymnastics until Jordyn Wieber brought it back in one of her “oh…that?” composition choices in 2011, the Weiler kip has caught on somewhat rapidly in the last five or so years among the “strong like ox, maybe not so much with the swinging” crowd. This is predominately because, like the piked stalder, the Weiler kip is worth a D even without a full pirouette, although the version with 1/2 twist has become much more popular than the regular version because it is also eligible for connection value. In other news, it is nearly impossible to make look not-clunky.

Remember the rule: “I before E, except after C, or when sounding like Y as in WHY ARE YOU DOING A WEILER.”

Value
D
