About
Most famous for how generally reviled it is, the wolf turn—at least, in its more complex iterations—is the most popular turn position on beam because of its extremely high value compared to other elements.

That’s why we rarely see a high quality single wolf turn in modern international beam routines. Anyone capable of doing a wolf turn well is immediately going to try to upgrade it to a double (or triple) to steal those sweet, sweet, over-valued wolf tenths. You don’t drill into a bank vault and then just take some ones. If you’re already down there, might as well take the gold bars.
