It was somewhat surprising to see Tienna Nguyen’s turn accepted for value and naming at the 2018 World Championship in Doha simply because the modern women’s technical committee has so aggressively run away from elements with multiple or indistinct shapes.

They don’t, for instance, permit a double salto that is laid out in the first and piked in the second, but they did permit this double turn that is an L turn in the first and a wolf turn in the second. Still, they awarded it a C (0.3) value just to let you know that they would really prefer you did either a double L or a double wolf at D (0.4).
