While the German giant is a favorite (ish) of men’s gymnastics, it has never caught on with any popularity in women’s gymnastics, and if the debacle that was Ivana Hong’s 2007 bars composition is any indication, it won’t be catching on any time soon.

The variation of this skill valued at C actually has to end in rear pike support (which is why I’ve cut off this GIF where I have), which you wouldn’t really do these days. There is a separate skill valued at D that’s basically the same thing but continuing through to handstand hang. That’s the skill we’ve seen in the rare recent incarnations of it.
