While it’s known as a full-twisting back handspring, the skill only technically requires a 3/4 twist before hand support, which is lucky for most people competing it who don’t come close to managing the full twist.

The skill has basically become an Omelianchik before awkwardly flopping down onto the beam with an arthritic 1/4 wrench of the body, and that’s fully endorsed by the code of points. Kochetkova’s original version, however, shows that’s not really how it should be, as she completes pretty much the entire twist before hand support and looks far more elegant than modern incarnations.
