On to senior session 2, where everyone is pre-qualified to nationals except for Annalisa Milton, who would still need 52 AA to make it.

Wong and Hang (rotating with the vault group) will be on bars and beam only. Lew will be on only bars, meaning she will only be able to compete bars and beam at nationals as a 2-event qualifier.
This session is on Peacock, with an international/VPN feed on the USAG YouTube. Our best option for scores in the last session was here, which worked for me throughout.
John tells us that the road to the next Olympics begins today. TODAY. Name your Olympic team. Mine is Hazel and Jacqueline.
Josc is like, “Guys, I’m not 11. Stop printing that I’m 11.”

Hezly’s main political platform is that Classic is some BS and doesn’t count. 12.300
Caylor – FX – double y to double turn – DLO, just hits it but well short with a hop – back full through to double tuck to punch front, lands totally OOB on double tuck but rebounds out of it, nearly brushes head on front tuck it was low – double wolf is an adventure but through it – leans well out of double L turn, they’re just like let’s give you Eythora skill selection – double pike, little bounce – switch ring to split leap full. 11.600, no credit for the front tuck since it was initiated OOB.
Rosa – BB – switch mount, switch 1/2 some pausing but nice positions – switch side aerial, chest down and falls – bhs loso, knees on bhs but hit – front tuck, deep, wobble – aerial, check – split, check before straddle – pause before dmt, hits double tuck, step back.

Sullivan – FX – switch side 1/2 – double double tuck, stuck – switch leap – split leap 1.5 to popa, no connection value for leaps in elite though – DLO, slide back – double wolf with an extra 1/4 turn – front full to double tuck, difficult attempt to connect out and takes it way short and falls.
Hang – UB – did Cale push her to start? Was this a restart? – toe full to pak – toe on to maloney to tkatchev – hit – 1/2 turn late – DLO, step back –
Matthews – UB – front stalder to jaeger, good feet, hit – Ricna – pak to toe full, breaks combo to van leeuwen – short hs – toe on – foot separations in giants – DLO, large lunge. 13.300

Rose has the lead after 2 with a 27.750.
Closeup of Simone being DEEPLY over it in the crowd with Cecile. Someone get that woman a cocktail and a 2027 training plan.
John’s like, sorry this meet is kind of a mess. Maybe the second half will be better? But I’ve seen enough Classics to know better. This is normal.
Rotation 3
Roberson – VT – DTY, hit, lunge back, leg crossing and separation in the air, solid power of course. 13.700
Rivera – FX – DLO 1/1 is hit but a bounce back OOB – DLO, another lunge back – wolf double, around – switch leap full to a quick knee to tell you she doesn’t want you to see her landing position – front through to double tuck, solid – split ring leap to switch ring, good switch ring – 2.5, smaller step. OOBs but her best one so far.
Hang – BB – hits candle mount – wolf double, big lean forward at the end and – side aerial, pause before split straddle loso, secure – bhs to back tuck full, hits with wobble – switch to switch side is solid, good split positions – double pike, solid height but chest down with lunge. Checkity but through it.
Matthews – BB – bhs mount, secure – bhs loso loso, right to the end, turn to the side correction – aerial with some knee, keeps moving into split to bhs – wolf triple is around with some arms – attempts straddle jump from side position and falls – side aerial – switch to split – double tuck, chest forward, hop

Rose – BB – switch mount to immediate switch, good – wolf triple, just pulls around third turn, nice through two and then very slow in third – pause – bhs loso loso, solid, small foot slide – side aerial, little hesitation before split and straddle – aerial, hit – 2.5 dmt, larger lunge forward. Very good. This is her meet so far. 13.150
Our new segment is Cale Mic’d Up.
Replay of Sullivan vault, good distance on 1.5, small step to the side. Solid. 13.800
Wong – BB – switch mount is good today, slew the giant – side aerial – switch, pause before switch 1/2 to split jump, nice elements – switch ring, we have a high angle today, but I thought her podium switch ring was short of ring credit – bhs loso, secure – wolf double, very smooth – aerial to split is smooth, pause before bhs – side somi, larger arm wave and lean – gainer pike full stuck. One bigger wobble, mostly very nice. 13.300 and a rare 8 in E score.
After 3
1. Rose – 40.900
2. Pease – 40.550
3. Sullivan/Roberson – 39.850
Rotation 4
“expressive engagement” Sam has read the artistry checklist.
Matthews – FX – front full to 2.5, lunge forward, just stayed in? – wolf double with some big arm wavy – back full through to double tuck, we’re all doing back fulls this year – switch 1/2 through to split leap full – looks really tired – double pike super short, knee down or close to it? 12.550 and a 51.500 finish.
Zhou finishes on 52.000
Pease hits a solid DTY, good height, some knee position, hop back. 14.050 and a 54.600
Sullivan – UB – weiler, pause before 1/2 – casts again before maloney to giant full to tkatchev to pak, misses her right hand and falls – resumes with van leeuwen, legs – DLO 1/1 with pike, step forward.
Well, we didn’t have a repeat of American Classic at least:

Rose – FX – back 2.5 to tuck 1/2 goes formy – split jump full is good – back 1.5 to front full, solid – wolf triple, around for credit – switch 1/2 to split leap full – double tuck, slide back. 13.300, 54.200 finish for 2nd place
Rivera – VT – DTY very deep knee landing and a hop to the side
Hardie – FX – wolf triple around – 2.5 to layout is secure, little bounce up – back 1.5 to front full, little hop – switch ring to split leap full – double tuck, chest forward, hop. Good one. 13.650 is the 2nd best floor of this session.
Caylor – UB – toe full to maloney to tkatchev, smooth combo – pak, good – van leeuwen, solid – a bit shy on hs – blind to jaeger, good toe point – DLO, chest down, small hop. She’s developing a very NCAA-anchor routine. 13.600, finishes 51.850.
Zhou – UB – stalder full to maloney to pak, little leg breaks but good – van leeuwen, leg separation – toe 1/2 to jaeger – ftdt, nearly stuck, little hop at the end. Nice overall.
Roberson – UB – shaposh to clear hip 1/2 to yezhova, OK – toe full with hesitation to maloney to gienger, larger leg breaks – clear hip – DLO 1/1, lunge back. 13.400 is a huge bars for her. Finishes 53.250.
FINAL:
1. Pease – 54.600
2. Rose – 54.200
3. Roberson 53.250
(Pierson and Esponda from session 1 on 52.600 and 52.350)
4. Zhou/Sullivan – 52.000
Classic gonna Classic. Helpful for Pease and Rose having clean, well executed days. Not reading to much into that, if you have Rivera hitting at nationals, Hang doing the AA, Blakely competing, you have a different set up. But putting themselves in the mix.
Esponda winning floor from the first session is good for her. Pease wins vault with 14.050, Lew wins bars with 14.050, Sullivan wins beam with 13.550.
