Don’t say it’s all about the new. In 2022, the code of points did the very necessary work of re-adding the basic backward roll on beam into the code of points as an A (0.1) element. Because it’s what the people were clamoring for. More backward rolls.

The backward roll had been removed from the code of points in 2006 when the entire rolls section was eliminated and merged into acrobatics, but it made its way back in for 2022.
