Event
Balance beam

Skill type
Acrobatic

Known as
Back handspring 1/1 (full)
Kochetkova

Named after
Dina Kochetkova (RUS)

About
While it’s known as a full-twisting back handspring, the skill only technically requires a 3/4 twist before hand support and placing the foot, meaning that it’s really just the Omelianchik with a less interesting or elegant finishing position as gymnasts just flop down onto the beam. The basic nature of the skill is that, unless you’re Dina Kochetkova, it’s going to look pretty cool for the first 3/4 of the twist and then kind of awkward and arthritic as you place your feet.
