Among the most difficult dismounts possible on the uneven bars, the double-twisting double tuck is appealing because of its juicy two-tenth value increase over the single twist. Still, only a very select few are able to complete it in a way that’s not profoundly knee-eating and terrifying. For most gymnasts, landing deductions destroy any two-tenth value that double twist might provide over the single twist. The typical trajectory is that a gymnast will think she’s upgrading to the Fabrichnova, perform it for like 2/3 of a year, and then go back to the full-twist because yikers.
