It’s really too complicated to describe this element, so just…Onodi
Henrietta Onodi (HUN)
Like its cohort on bars, the Pak, the Onodi is among the very rare skills that are referred to only and ever by the given name Onodi, predominately because actually describing the technical features of the skill is just an unbearable bramble.
The naming is nonetheless controversial because Onodi got this skill named after herself by performing it at the 1989 world championships, but six years earlier, Olga Mostepanova had performed it at the 1983 world championships (beautifully, out of a back handspring, your fave could never). So, it really should be the Mostepanova. The Justice for Mostepanova League has so many topics for discussion at our weekly meetings, you guys.
