The pike jump is among the rarer of the A-valued beam dance elements. It tends to be ignored in favor of other options—like a wolf jump or a sissone—for the purposes of a leap combination. And because it’s just A value, it cannot be used for mixed series bonus…so why even bother.

Also a solid 75% of people performing the pike jump have a hip angle of about 179 degrees, which is not correct. We’re looking for a pike.
