About
We can comfortably place this skill into the “you’d have to be insane category.” The Mo salto is tied for the highest-rated element on bars at a G value and has a pretty solid argument for being the most difficult bars skill in existence. That’s why those who have attempted it over the years, from Mo Huilan to Yao Jinnan, have been very few and very far between.

You’ll sometimes hear this skill called a Gaylord, it’s name in the men’s code of points, but it has its own name in the women’s code, or should at least.

In the 2017 code update (when they finally decided to fix the spelling), for some reason Mo’s eponymous skill was suddenly listed as the tucked Jaeger instead of the Mo salto. Sweetie, no.

The Mo is among the few skills that have been awarded an empty-swing exemption, so gymnasts are permitted to perform it with an empty swing afterward (as you’d kind of have to) without being hit with that massive deduction.
