A trailblazer of a skill, the Derwael-Fenton is not only the newest member of the Tkatchev family, it is also the first element to be named using the more forgiving standard (introduced in 2017 for this skill) that two gymnasts performing the same original element at the same championship may both be awarded the skill by name. It’s only sensible.

In past years, this would have gone unnamed because two people performed it, but now, it is officially the Derwael-Fenton. Or, if you’re me, the Nina-Mae Fentwael.
