Two automatic spots on the US women’s worlds team will be decided today, using a new formula based on the faces Alicia made when Dulcy Caylor got the automatic spot on the worlds team last year.

Also 40% nationals total/60% today’s score.
The other three spots on the team, as well as the traveling and non-traveling alternates, will be announced by the selection committee sometime after competition tomorrow.
Twelve gymnasts are still in the mix following the withdrawals of Leanne Wong, Jayla Hang, and Izzy Stassi.
Rotation Group A: Charleigh Bullock, Jade Carey, Skye Blakely, Lila Richardson, Zoey Molomo, Tatum Drusch
Rotation Group B: Dulcy Caylor, Hezly Rivera, Claire Pease, Simone Rose, Reese Esponda, Caroline Moreau
Rivera enters with an edge for the first automatic spot based on her win at nationals, while Pease and Bullock are basically neck-and-neck for the second, with another larger gap to Reese Esponda and Jade Carey.
OK…

So…

Comp has started but we have no working stream yet. The patience, she isn’t strong…
The gang’s all here on YouTube now, still with no scores……thank you? Middle of the 2nd rotation.
Esponda – VT – DTY is around, chest down, larger bounce back
Richardson with a back full to double tuck on floor, chest down, hop forward. tour jete 1/2 to switch 1/1, under, scoots the end of the full turn around – wolf triple, gets it around – front through to double pike, a bit low, hop to the side
Esponda’s second vault is a pretty solid lopez, some pike throughout, good height, hop back
Moreau vaults a Y1.5, very high, hop forward, knees throughout
Caylor – VT – shorter landing on DTY with a lunge forward
Molomo – FX – memmel turn, leans out of it early – DLO, hit, hop back, some knees and feet – popa, around – whip back full to double pike, short, shuffle forward with a couple steps – tour jete 1/2 is good – switch side 1/2 – wolf 2.25 – front tuck through to double tuck, stagger bounce on landing
Claire Pease got 14.500 for a nice Cheng on vault. It’s the stacked mats at camp, but finished the vault pretty high, looked good. She came for an auto spot today.
Drusch – FX – wolf 2.75 – DLO is very short, gets it to her feet but a couple of lunges forward – popa – back 1.5 to front full, under control – tour jete 1/2 to switch 1/1, pulls around the foot landing position – back 2.5 + front tuck with a hop forward
Carey just 13.100 on floor. She needs to pull out a good Cheng. Esponda went 13.800 on floor and Pease went 13.950.
Bullock – FX – Full in, steps back OOB – back full through to double tuck, little shuffle back – leans out of the memmel at the end – tour jete 1/2 and switch 1/2 are solid – front 2/1, crossover step – back 2.5, some leg crossing, step forward
Thus concludes the second rotation. Judging by the live scores, the current standings are:
1) Angela Lansbury – 291.675
2) Dwight Eisenhower – 290.111
3) Tootie from the Facts of Life – 288.ZbL
4) The Secret Passageway from the Conservatory to the Lounge from Clue – 280.zzz
5) Catalina Ponor – 0.000
Rotation 3
Pease – UB – front stalder 1/2 to inbar full to inbar shap to tkatchev, hit – pak, good height – stalder shap 1/2, hit – toe 1/2, leg sep, into double fornt 1/2, little hop. Hit. Lost some rhythm in the second half but hit all the elements well.
We’re still warming up on vault.
Rose – UB – can’t get out of her weiler and hops off the bar – maloney to clear hipo full to pak, hit, small leg separations – van leeuwen, nice – hit her DLO 1/1.
Blakely – VT – goes with a DTY, very strong, little hop, small leg form, should get a hefty number
Blakely – VT 2 – Lopez is hit, pretty solid form, good height, hop back and then another step
Esponda – UB – short first hs – toe full, holds it to connect into van leeuwen, good – yezhova with leg sep – maloney to gienger, hit – FTDT, little hop. Good. Some form things and handstands but a strong bars for her.
Molomo – VT – super high Y1.5 as always, hop forward
Molomo second vault it a huge problem, just does a handspring tuck and then cannonballs onto the mat on all fours, seems OK, just a splat onto the mats
Moreau – UB – weiler 1/2 to maloney to clear hip to very high church, too high and falls –
Drusch – VT – y1.5, hit, step forward
Moreau restarts and hits the Church – pak, too far over the bar and has to do a hip circle and then comes off again. Resumes again and hits a van leeuwen but then goes over again on a cast hs on high – she’s trying to stay on now but can’t get her rhythm back – does end up doing a DLO with a hop. The score will be so low that it torpedoes her AA total/non-traveling alternate case.
Drusch 2nd vault is a Tsuk full, low landing, large rebound back
Bullock – VT – DTY is hit, small bounce, slight leg crossing, solid
Carey – VT – gets a Cheng to her feet with a hop to the side – a fair amount of leg form but a landed 5.6 vault
Caylor – UB – toe full to maloney to pak, well done – van leeuwen, small leg separation – solid hs – jaeger, good toe point – some body position 1/2 turn on high – DLO, step back. Clean one.
Carey – VT 2 – comfortable DTY, knees, bounce back
Rivera – UB – weiler, pauses and comes off – oooooooh – toe full to sltalder shap to stalder to stalder tkatchev piked and a second fall – she waits for a while again and goes to rechalk – stalder tkatchev piked to pak is hit – maloney to tkatchev – giant 1/2 – FTDT, very deep with lunge forward.
Pease and Bullock for auto-spots?

One bigger break but a huge day. She came to win worlds today.
Now we wait to find out what happened today. You know, sports!
The eye test says that Pease and Bullock would take the auto spots, and even the Cheng for Carey wouldn’t be enough to outweigh Pease, Bullock, Rivera, Blakely, Esponda as a team. But we don’t know what that Cheng scored yet. And also it’s Jade. But if we’re playing the Esponda/Carey game, Esponda beat Carey by 7 tenths on floor today and went 14 on vault.
We have it confirmed that Pease and Bullock got the automatic worlds spots. The Rivera bars catastrophe was the huge development of the day in clinching an automatic spot for Bullock.
Scores in. Pease 56.700, Blakely 56.500, Bullock 55.650, Esponda 55.350, Caylor 53.750, Rivera 53.500, Carey 53.450.
Carey’s Cheng went 14.200 and every DTY got a 9.450 E score.
Highest-scoring team for today is Pease, Blakely. Bullock, Esponda, Rivera.
