Unlike on floor exercise, where turns are valued in full-twist increments, balance beam turns can receive higher value for adding a 1/2 turn. The wolf turn turn 1.5 is valued at C (0.3), rather than the B (0.2) for the full turn.
The wolf 1.5 is extremely rare in international elite gymnastics, however, because if you’re going to bother to wolf turn that much, you might as well try to get two turns and D (0.4) value out of it. Typically, we see the wolf 1.5 only when the attempted wolf double becomes a wolf oopsie, and the gymnast has to bail on it after 1.5.
