The front pike is the same value and skill number as the front tuck on floor. It therefore has less of a footprint because, if you’re using an A-value front salto for various combination and requirement needs, you’re picking the front tuck because it’s easier.

The only reason the front pike would appear is if you already used up the front tuck when connecting out of your under-rotated 3/1 and need another element to tack onto your back 2.5 to get some more bonus. Then, you use the front pike. Or, if a front tuck is so easy for you that you might over-rotate it and die, you do a front pike just to take up a little bit more of your air time.
