The most important thing to know about the split leap 1/2 is that it is not a tour jete. You will hear it called a tour jete all the time. It is not a tour jete. That is something different. This is a split leap with 1/2 turn.

The simple split leap 1/2 has nearly disappeared in modern elite gymnastics because of its B value, rendering it basically unusable when there are so many available switch-based dance elements valued at least at C.
