Most gymnasts will be happy to count a C element on floor, but the triple turn is a risky selection in that department because you might start tipping out of it and under-turn and not get credit and get a bunch of deductions. There are safer Cs.

That’s why we don’t see a ton of intentional triple turns on floor. We do, however, see a fair number of triple turns from gymnasts who were hoping for the precious E-value quad but didn’t get it all the way around and are going to count the triple turn as a backup plan.
