Maile O’Keefe

To open the season, O’Keefe recorded her 11th career 10.000 on beam—extending her NCAA record for most 10s ever scored on beam. (Next on the list is Maggie Nichols with 7.)

It is the 12th overall 10.000 of O’Keefe’s career (joining her 1 on bars), moving her into sole possession of 13th on the all-time 10s list.

The graduation of Trinity Thomas made O’Keefe the active leader for NCAA 10.000s, now sitting 2 ahead of both Haleigh Bryant and Jade Carey.

O’Keefe is just 2 shy of Theresa Kulikowski’s Utah record for 10.000s at 14.

Sage Kellerman

Kellerman received a perfect score for her handspring pike 1/2 on Friday and became the 4th gymnast in Michigan State history to score a 10.000 on vault—joining Nikki Smith in 2023, Rhiannon Banda-Scott in 2008, and Rochelle Robinson in 2007 in a tie for the program vault record.

Jori Jackard is the only MSU gymnast to have scored a 10.000 outside of vault, which she did on bars last March.

Raena Worley

Worley tied the Kentucky bars record on Friday with her 9.975 at the Super 16, joining the club with Cally Nixon and Jenny Hansen, who both reached that mark twice in their careers.

Jocelyn Moore

Moore recorded her second career 9.975 on floor this weekend, tying the Missouri record she already shared with Amari Celestine in 2022, Sarah Shire and Mary Burke in 2010, and Alisha Robinson and Lauren Schwartzman in 2004.

Moore is the first Missouri gymnast to have scored 9.975 on floor twice in her career.

Team and AA Top 5s

#18 Illinois State recorded the 4th-best team total in school history with a 195.950 at Sunday’s visit to Bowling Green. This now means that 4 of Illinois State’s 5 best scores in history have come at away meets. The program record is 196.375, set at the MIC Championship last March.

Raisa Boris of Eastern Michigan was the only gymnast to break into her school’s all-around top 5 during the first week of competition. Her 39.425 tied Hadyn Crossen in 2021 and Natalie Hashimoto in 2001 for 5th on EMU’s all-time list of best AA scores. Hashimoto owns the record of 39.725, set in 2000.

First Meet Records

#3 Missouri set a school first-meet record with 197.150, easily eclipsing the team’s previous opening meet mark of 196.600 from 2022.

#9s Kentucky and Ohio State both went 196.775, which for Kentucky beat last season’s record opener of 196.575, while for Ohio State tied last season’s 196.775.

#13 Oregon State also tied its record for best first-meet score with a 196.525, a mark last reached to open the 2012 season in a home victory over a then-titleless Oklahoma.

#18 Illinois State unsurprisingly set a first-meet record with this one since it was also, you know, the 4th-best score ever.

#25 Ball State‘s 194.925 unseated 2018’s 194.475 as the best ever start to a season, continuing the record-setting trajectory from last season’s trip to regionals for the first time since the 90s.

#31 Lindenwood set a program-record opening score by nearly a point with a 194.000, easily outpacing last year’s 193.125 and hopefully the beginning of many more spite-based records set this season.

#44 UW-Oshkosh went 190.875 to open the season, besting last year’s 190.400 and a wildly far cry from 10 years ago, when Oshkosh started the season with a 179.950—at that time also a record opening score.
