It’s an unusual Friday this week with just 3 of the top 10 in action and 7 of the top 25. Typically it’s…almost all of them. LSU playing host to Auburn is the top-ranked match-up of the day, while Florida and Missouri both head to the GQ quad. The SEC Network lists that meet specifically as a Florida v Missouri meet rather than a quad, just FYI.
Meanwhile, let us all hope for a day scored with the scrutiny of bars at last night’s Arizona/ASU meet.
Looks like Carly Bauman in the AA for Michigan today as they’re without Morrison and have to fill that need on three events.
Kentucky’s meet against BYU is already underway, hit yfull from Rodriguez, pretty large bounce back, presented with the white boa of victory. 9.725. Almost seemed like Rizo was going to stick in the second spot, ended up being kind of steppy.
SECN is indeed showing all four events from the quad.
Rotation 1
Schreiber – VT – Missouri yfull, near stick, small movement, bit of pike. 9.825
Blakely – UB – Florida – hits maloney to pak, solid cast hs on high – blind to front giant to doubel front, cowboy, good stick. Maybe her best of the season. 9.875
Patterson stuck her handspring pike 1/2 for Kentucky.
Townes – BB – Illinois – switch to straddle 1/4, secure, a little tight in straddle position – cat leap to side aerial, chest down, leg up wobble – bhs loso, knee position, small hesitation on landing – small hop on landing. 9.775
Evans for Lindenwood finishes floor with double tuck, bounce back.
Light – VT – Missouri – yfull, also just a small hop back, more distance than Schreiber. 9.800
Nguyen – UB – Florida – maloney to pak, small leg break on pak, a little past on 1/2 turn on low bar – DLO, deeper landing, step forward. 9.800
Knight – BB – Illinois – switch to split to beat, hit – side aerial to bhs, quick arms down to avoid a check – side somi, holds it – gainer full, stuck, nice. 9.875
Raena Worley went 9.900 on vault with a full tenth step forward.
Davis VT – Missouri – full tenth lunge back on yfull, has the height.
Disidore on bars for Florida, good maloney to pak combo – van leeuwen, hit – solid hs on high – DLO, small hop, very clean one. And she goes 9.925, so one judge only took for landing
Mueller – BB – Illinois – bhs loso, some knee in bhs, more laid out in the layout – switch to straddle 1/4 – big break on her kickover front, deep, big arm wave, keeps it on the beam – 1.5, hop. 9.675
Caffey finishes floor for Lindenwood with a secure landing on double tuck, chest down.
Horton – VT – Missouri – y1.5, medium hop forward, solid, good direction. 9.875
Lazzari – UB – Florida – tkatcehv, good toes – toe on to pak, good height – arch in cast 1/2 on low bar, pulls it back – then a bit short on cast hs on high bar – saves the score with a FTDT stick. 9.825
Baechle – FX – Lindenwood – front 2/1, around for credit, controls the step – split ring jump 1/1 – switch side, overturns a little to popa – back 1.5 to front full, tucks the front full to get it around
Moore – VT – y1.5, pretty large bounce forward – 9.800
Pilgrim – UB – Florida – good first hs – maloney to pak, some hip position, hit – solid toe throughout – FTDT, leg break at the end, small hop. 9.900
Nataraj with a hit on beam for Illinois, check on full turn, small hop on 1.5 dmt. 9.825
Jones – FX – Lindenwood – double pike, nice control – back 1.5 to front lay, just a little under, small slide back – split leap 1.5, under split – solid 1.5 to front lay. 9.850
Celestine – VT – Missouri – good distance on y1.5, does pretty well to minimize the hop forward but still a tenth big. And that’s what they take. 9.900
Takekawa – BB – Illinois – side aerial to bhs, corrects in the air with some form – large break on her switch to loso, leg up to horizontal and a turn to the side
Wong – UB – Florida – maloney to pak small leg separation- good cast hs on high – DLO, hop back. 9.900
Very much enjoying Sam being like, Don’t assume she’s not going to get a 10 just because she hopped, have you seed this sport?
Griswold – FX – Lindenwood – double pike, good height and feet, slide back – switch 1/2 to wolf full, good – good front full to front lay – double tuck, bounce back
So Florida goes 49.425 on bars, a solid rotation, didn’t have a fall in the second spot or anything this week, not enough sticks to get onto 198 pace. Missouri vaults 49.200, also a lot of full tenth steps there, smallish lead on Illinois, Lindenwood keeping it close after floor.
Kentucky leads BYU 49.325-49.200 after first rotation.
Rotation 2
Jones – VT – Lindenwood – hits a yfull, deductions for pike and distance, step back
Burns – UB – Missouri – hits first hs – blind to jaeger to overshoot, solid, just a bit of feet on catch on the jaeger – hits hs on high – DLO, holds onto landing. And 9.900 to start the rotation.
Draser – BB – Florid a- bhs loso, solid – switch to switch 1/2, hit, loses foot form – 1.5 dismount, holds landing. 9.900
Nice to see Bunn back in the bars lineup for Kentucky, she nearly goes to jelly on her DLO dismount but holds onto it
Blakely – BB – Florida – aerial, keeps moving into bhs but a big step back and an arm wave correction – split leap to switch 1/2, hit, into beat jump – full turn, check – gainer full, little hop. 9.825 is high for that wobble.
And we have a bars 10 for Worley for Kentucky. Mostly because she winked on dismount.
Pilgrim – BB – Florida – bhs loso, hit – full turn, solid – beat to aerial, a little flat but hit – switch to split leap, lovely – gainer full, holds onto landing well. 9.900
Amaya Marshall had to stop against the low bar on bars for Missouri after her overshoot. 9.500
Mueller – FX – Illinois – front tuck through to double tuck, under control, some feet – front lay to front full, hit –
Lazzari – BB – Florida – bhs loso loso, nice – switch to split, holds onto it well – aerial, lands under, lean correction – full turn, hit – gainer full, small hop back. 9.900
Schreiber with a lovely stuck DLO on bars for Missouri. 9.900
Michigan goes 49.300 on vault with a 9.975 from Brooks.
Nguyen – BB – Florida – onodi to bhs, smooth – switch to split, excellent positions – bhs 1.5 dismount, holds stick but a full arm circle. Watch out for where the scores are going because they already went 9.9 for Lazzari with a wobble and a non-stick. 9.875, OK sure fine.
Moore – UB – Missouri – nice amplitude on tkatchev to overshoot, just a bit of feet here and there – sticks FTDT.
Wong – BB – Florida – switch to split leap – bhs loso series, secure – full turn, comfortable – aerial to beat, nice – 2/1, holds onto it on her toes with some knee crossing. Good.
And it’s 9.975 for Wong. I don’t think you can go 10 for that dismount.
Titarsolej – UB – Missouri – maloney to pak, lovely leg form – 1/2 turn on low, correct vertical – good cast hs on high – giant full, nice completion, to double tuck, stuck. Excellent.
And it’s a 10 for Titarsolej. Don’t mind it.
Townes – FX – Illinois – rudi to straddle jump, nice to watch – back 1.5 to front full, controlled step, good – some knees – wolf jump 1.5, lands about a quarter under – split leap full to popa, rises into popa.
It’s 49.550 for Florida on beam to go to 98.975 after two, now right there with 198 pace. Missouri keeps it close with that 10 on 98.700.
Rotation 3
Takekawa – VT – Illinois – yfull, off direction, lands one foot out of the area with a little bounce
Moon – UB – Lindenwood – shaposh with a straddle, connects to bail to toe shoot – DLO, high, shuffle back with both feet
Celestine – BB – Missouri – wolf single, hit – bhs, moves through to side aerial with a check and some rhythm – front tuck, solid – good split jump 3/4 – gainer full, tiny movement
Nguyen no trouble on the front 2/1 to sissone this week, good – 1.5 to front lay is solid – and she hit her Gator chomp. 9.900
Light – BB – Missouri – bhs bhs loso, arm wave check – full turn, hit – split jump, tentative with back leg into split 1/2 – cat leap to gainer pike, can’t quite hold the stick
Bluffstone in the floor lineup for Florida today – FTDT, solid, some foot position, quick hop to present – front full to front full, under control, not the highest – switch side to straddle 1/2 shushunova, not quite up there on the split, which the shushunova covers. Very reasonable option. 9.875
Marshall – BB – Missouri – aerial to bhs, hit – split jump, good position, full arm swing into stag ring – kickover, holds it – gainer full, stuck. Good. 9.875
Pilgrim with a solid floor for Florida, just a little bounce on the first pass. 9.900
Schaffer – BB – Missouri – full turn, a bit tentaitve but walks right out of it – bhs bhs loso, hit – aerial, arm wave check – switch to split, hit, a little tight – 1.5, slide back. 9.800
Kraus – UB – Lindenwood – Big Ray, catch closer on overshoot with some elbo form – good hs on high – FTDT, deep landing, large lunge forward
Blakely – FX – Florida – front tuck through to double tuck, under control – swtich to switch ring 1/2, good split position, some flexed feet here and there – back 1.5 to front full, under control, some knee
Davis for Missouri falls on loso series in 5th spot, as Cooper falls on bars for Lindenwood.
Ward hits a y1.5 on vault for Illinois with a pace forward.
Richards – FX – Florida – DLO, keeps the bounce small to just stay in bounds – switch side to popa, a little crooked on the switch side position – back 1.5 to front full, under control.
Schreiber – BB – Missouri- bhs loso series, right on – switch 1/2, lean correction – split jump to split 3/4, hit – beat to gainer full, stuck.
Appleget – UB – Lindenwood – big gienger, just some feet at the end, connects to overshoot, DLO, small hop
Wong – FX – Florida – wolf double, around – DLO, under control, pikes down the second salto a little – switch 1/2 to popa, shows good positions – back 1/2 to front full, little slide
Waiting on Wong’s score but Florida will be very much in the hunt for a 198 after three, but they’ll have to land vaults. Interested to see if Bluffstone ends up knocking Brubach out of this lineup. 9.875 a good score, but this was also kind of form-isn’t-part-of-it floor scoring, so how does that hold up in other meets?
Rotation 4
Lazzari – VT – Florida – hits her y1.5, a little deep at the end, lunge forward, some knees. 9.800
Mueller hits DLO to finish bars for Illinois, hop.
Griswold – BB – Lindenwood – bhs loso, holds it, minor turn to the side – sissone to switch 1/2, well under split, can’t hold onto it and falls
Draser – VT – Florida – lands short with two pretty big steps back on her y1.5. 9.650
Denning – UB – Illinois – good first hs – toe on to maloney to bail, hit, solid vertical – short cast hs on high – DLO, pikes down at the end, step back. But nice form overall.
Meanwhile, Kentucky is already at 9.925s in the first half of the floor lineup, so watch out for Worley’s routine. Michigan goes 49.400 on beam for its top rotation score of the day. Could be a 197.5 if floor comes through.
Blakely – VT – Florida – y1.5, pulls it out, small hop in place and some knees at the end. And 9.925
Knight – UB – Illinois – toe on to maloney to bail, small leg break at the end – short cast hs on high – DLO, small step forward.
Horton – FX – Missouri – FTDT, looks like she mostly controls the front foot, good one – really struggles with her footwork into switch side, doesn’t really get anywhere close to the position – front tuck through to 2.5, hit
Pilgrim – VT – Florida – y1.5, pretty large lunge forward, could be a .15 or .20 lunge. But not really 9.825
Brose has 9.950 for Kentucky in the 5th spot on floor.
Celestine – FX – Missouri – FTDT, controls the step back – split leap full to jump full, around solidly – front full to layout, just a bit bouncy – doubel tuck, some feet, under control. 9.950
Worley lands all of her floor passes under control. 9.975.
Danie Ferris goes 9.900 on vault with some knees and a bounce to the side, so Florida should be on high 197 here.
Kentucky 49.650 on floor to finish on 197.775.
Griffin – FX – Missouri – front tuck through to double tuck, under control, some foot form – double pike, small bounce back – split leap full to popa to popa to knee, nice. 9.900
Wong – VT – Florida – ro 1/2 on pike 1/2, bounce back, pikes herself to control the bounce. 9.900
Saltness on bars for Illinois with a nice Ray but can’t control the Pak out of it, basically stands on the mat into process of keeping going.
Florida is done on 197.925, a season high for them and a countable road score. Illinois and Missouri are also going to end up LOVING the scoring in this one.
Moore – FX – Missouri – DLO, hit – switch 1/2 is shy, nice rise into the popas, which looked good – front tuck through to double tuck
9.925 for Moore takes Missouri to 197.450, which is also a season high. Illinois goes 196.550, which is…wait for it…also a season high. If you landed, and stayed on beam, you were getting a score today. Lindenwood 194.825 with a counting fall on beam
Ohio state should be solidly into the 197s if they stay on beam in the final rotation against Iowa.
Band is back together with Bart and Kathy today for Auburn and LSU.
Michigan gets a 10 from Wilson and a 9.975 from Brooks on floor for what will suddenly turn into a huge road score. It’s 197.650 after 49.650 on floor. 197.125 for Ohio State.
Rotation 1
OK, let’s get weird.
KJ Johnson – VT – LSU – yfull, big amplitude, bounce back I’d say full tenth, some direction. 9.775, OK we’re judging here
Brusch – UB – Auburn – good first hs – toe on to maloney, some leg break, connects to bail, good legs together – short cast hs on high – DLO, chest forward, step. 9.800
Finnegan – VT – LSU – Does the y1.5 today, good one, holds onto the stick with an arm wave, just a little behind herself. 9.950 and one judge went 10 with a full arm wave on the stick, so never mind what we said about the first score.
Hollingsworth – UB – Auburn – piked jaeger – hits hs – , bail reaches vertical some position in the air – FTDT, nearly finds the stick, step back in the end. 9.775
Drayton – VT – LSU – Y1.5, medium step forward and a bit of crossover, which indicates some under rotation. 9.900
Groth – UB – Auburn – Ray, good – hits hs on high – pak, hit – short cast hs on high – giant full, solid into double tuck, doesn’t hold the stick with a step salute. 9.800
Schoenherr – VT – LSU – Y1.5, small hop to the side and off direction. 9.875
McLaughlin – UB – Auburn – good hs to maloney to pak, nice position – 1/2 turn on low, probably close enough to 20 degrees – giant full to double tuck, stuck. Good one. 9.850
Kiya Johnson – VT – LSU – one does the yfull today, which is what she posted, so that was the plan – good form, slide back. 9.850
Stevens – UB – Auburn – toe on to Ray, hit, some feet, good amplitude into overshoot – DLO, some pike position, chest forward with a hop. 9.850
Bryant – VT – LSU – handspring pike 1/2 – kind of a strange landing this week, deeper and chest forward with a slide back. 9.900 is some scoring your expectations there
Greaves – UB – Auburn – hits hs – Church, hit, a little close – connects to pak – van leeuwen, small leg break – way way short on cast hs on high – FTDT, shorter, shuffle forward. 9.800 also quite high for the end of that routine with the handstand and the short dismount.
LSU goes 49.475, as high number, but you thought it was going to go higher after one went 10 for Finnegan. Judges gave that one 9.7 to Johnson and were like, OK we finished our vegetables now ALL DESSERT.
After 1
LSU 49.475
Auburn 49.100
Rotation 2
Groth – VT – Auburn – yfull, medium bounce back and does not hold her finish position, some knees. 9.750
Jeffrey – UB – LSU – good first hs – maloney to bail, legs together, some soft knees on maloney backswing – FTDT, absorbs a bit deep?, small slide back. 9.850
Schumaker – VT – Auburn – y1.5 tucked, pace forward, little leg separation on the block. 9.825
Tatum – UB – LSU – Ray, hit into a clean high pak, a bit past on cast 1/2 on low – short cast hs on high – FTDT, deeper landing than Jeffrey, definitely a deep absorb, and then a little movement. 9.800 with an 85/75 split
Hollingsworth – VT – Auburn – y1.5 with a pretty large lunge forward. 9.825
Cowan – UB – LSU – Ray to overshoot, nice amplitude – rushes cast hs on high some – DLO, nice lift, small bounce back. Her best one. 9.900
Huff – VT – Auburn – y1.5, holds onto the landing stick well, didn’t think she would because it wasn’t the most dynamic or high, some knees, but great landing. 9.925
Johnson – UB – LSU – maloney to bail, lots of arch on maloney backswing – toe on – DLO, high, bounce back. 9.875
Hubbard – VT – Auburn – y1.5, very large bound forward on landing and some knees. 9.775
Schoenherr – UB – LSU – good first hs – toe 1/2 a bit past – high jaeger, initiates with flexed feet, extends them in the salto – toe on to bail, legs together – solid cast on high – double front 1/2 out, some cowboy, stuck. 9.925.
Stevens – VT – Auburn – y1.5, small hop forward, some foot crossing at the end. 9.900
Bryant – UB – LSU – blind to jaeger, hit – solid cast hs on high – bail, hit – good hs on high – blind to double front 1/2 out, step back. Great until dismount step but that should be a tenth. Or not. 9.925
LSU with another 49.475 on bars, 98.950 after the first two rotations, will know they have to stay on beam to be on pace for 198 because…you know, floor. Auburn on 98.350, would really love a road 197 out of this one so will have to increase the scoring pace on floor now.
Jeff: “I like the fight that we have but we’re not very sharp.” Thank you for your honesty.
Rotation 3
Ballard – BB – LSU – bhs loso, secure, some feet in combo – full turn, solid – sissone, short on back leg, to switch 1/2, hit – kickover, arm wave correction – 1.5 dismount, step. 9.875
Brusch – FX – Auburn – front tuck through to double tuck, good control, some foot position – switch 1/1 to straddle 1/2 to wolf full – double pike, some rebound. 9.875
Jeffrey – BB – LSU – wolf single, hit – cat leap to switch side, holds it – bhs loso, secure – standing front tuck, holds onto it, deeper with a squeeze – 1.5 dismount, stuck. 9.925
Hagle – FX – Auburn – back 1.5 to front full, some soft leg form – split leap full to popa, a bit of travel – wolf double, didn’t make it around but pretended she did with her face – double tuck, deep and falls –
McClain – BB – LSU – out of bars but in on beam today – switch to switch 1/2, actual credit for switch 1/2, the only one who shouldn’t get deducted – aerial to bhs, comfortable – wolf jump, yes – full turn, smooth – side aerial, little correction – gainer full, stuck. 9.975, wouldn’t have gone 10 with this one because of the side aerial squeeze. But it was like .2 better than Jeffrey so there was nowhere to go
Groth – FX – Auburn – front 2/1, hit with some knees – switch 1/2 to wolf full, around – back 1.5 to front lay, good layout, some leg break in 1.5 – rudi, a little ragged and some sliding back. 9.875
Johnson – BB – LSU – full turn, slightly tentative – bhs loso, holds securely – switch to switch, hits it – kickover, secure – 2/1, stuck. Saved a couple things where she was a little off but didn’t wobble, so we’ll see where they go. 9.950 with a 10/9.90 split.
This meet has gone exactly as off the rails as we expected.
McLaughlin – FX – Auburn – 1.5 to a very low layout, just saved it but form and leg separation to get it to her feet – split leap full to wolf jump 1.5, short on wolf position – double pike, solid. 9.800, which is also extremely high fro that first pass, so Auburn not left out –
Bryant – BB – LSU – aerial to bhs, nice – switch to straddle 1/4, hit – full turn – kickover, holds it, less of a lean than last week – rudi, does not hold her finish position with a lean back to salute. 9.950 of course.
Stevens – FX – Auburn – front lay to rudi, pikes it down at the end, under control – split leap full to wolf full – aerial to knee – double tuck, fights to control that front foot and does. 9.850
Finnegan – BB – LSU – bhs loso loso, right on – switch to split jump, nice – full turn, nice – aerial, lovely – gainer full, takes the landing with a stagger. She was 1000000% going to get a 10 until that dismount. 9.925
49.725 beam ties program record for the fourth time.
Hollingsworth – FX – Auburn – open FTDT, under control – switch 1/2 to popa, a bit under – front tuck through to double tuck. 9.900
So LSU is now on 148.675. Would take a 49.800 on floor to match that program record from two weeks ago now, and we’re…keeping that in mind. Auburn with a 49.300 on floor, now needing 49.350 beam to get to that 197 mark.
Rotation 4
Zancan – BB – Auburn – drops a tad on her press handstand mount but keeps going – bhs loso, good layout position – switch to switch 1/2, small correction on landing, nice work in the air – beat – 1.5 dismount way short, multiple lunges back. Drag, that was really pretty. Still got 9.650.
Ballard – FX – LSU – DLO, good control – back 1.5 to layout, layout gets lower than the 1.5, under control – switch ring, good, lower in switch 1/2 – double pike, step back, couldn’t see OOB or not. 9.775
Brusch – BB – Auburn – switch 1/2, a little under, to beat jump, hit – bhs loso, bend at hips correction – switch to straddle 1/4, short back leg on switch, hit straddle 1/4 – gainer full, stuck. 9.850
Almost like if we didn’t have a stupid ticker on the screen, we could see whether Ballard was OOB.
Drayton – FX – LSU – DLO, under control, good height – front tuck through to double tuck, good tuck position, chest up – switch ring to switch 1/2, lovely. Excellent. 9.925
Hollingsworth – BB – Auburn – full turn, smooth – bhs loso, secure, chest down – switch 1/2, low front leg, connects to split jump, some feet – gainer full, bounce back. 9.875
KJ Johnson – FX – LSU – open FTDT, keeps that front foot down – back 1.5 to front lay, quick control on that back foot – switch side, overturns some into popa – double tuck, great position, shows control. 9.925
Groth – BB – Auburn – bhs loso bhs, right on – switch to switch 1/2, good front foot – full turn, hit – gainer full, chest down, holds the stick. 9.925
Finnegan – FX – LSU – double arabian, hits into stag jump, not the highest stag but not an underground one either – fine – switch ring to a nice switch full split position – 2.5 to front tuck, under control. Watch out.
And Finnegan gets a 10.
Stevens – BB – Auburn – “Sophia Groth smiled her way to 9.925” LOL – bhs loso, secure, flexed foot positions – split jump to stag ring, solid – kickover to knee, nice, into wolf turn – 1.5 dismount, hop. 9.875
Why is there a plate of breakfast?
Bryant – FX – LSU – double front, step back – switch leap – switch full, a little under the full turn – front lay to rudi, controls it, chest a bit forward. 9.925
McLaughlin – BB – Auburn – bhs loso, nice – side aerial, chest forward lean, moves into split jump, good split jump form – full turn, hit – switch to straddle 1/4, hit – gainer pike. 9.925, sure.
Dunne is coming in for Kiya Johnson in the anchor spot – front tuck to double tuck, under control – switch to switch ring 1/2, some lack of control landing that second element – y spin – double pike, chest forward, hop to the side. 9.850
Auburn got 49.450 on beam to get to a useful road score of 197.100. LSU 49.625 on floor for a 198.300, third home 198 of the season.

Leaving a comment so it asks if I want emails. I stopped getting them again.
I heard Samantha mention “the rising chest’
What would happen if they tried to do one of these coach spotlight pieces and the women said, “He/she’s a total asshole. Yells at us, calls us names, etc.”? LOL!
“Missouri is a blue collar team” what does that even mean? It’s not a trade school…
GIF alert: Finnegan’s face on her vault landing 🤣 (Though one judge giving that a 10.0 is … questionable!)
Kathy’s back…hyberbole and all !
This LSU vault scoring is….interesting
You always know when LSU is having a home meet. Those vault scores were stupid. Maybe they were influenced by Kathy !
Well I know the scores are too high but this is the best LSU has looked on beam all year
I love how they show the other view of Ballard’s last pass and we STILL can’t see it with the ribbon at the bottom of the screen
Am I up way too late or did I see someone pretending to feed Aleah fake bacon and eggs after her floor routine???
Oh geez… the hate LSU will get as long as they have walk-ons like Konnor McClain.
They like to hate on LSU because many people love to throw rocks at anything shiny. If they weren’t any good no one would really care enough about them to post.
“Walk-on” is pushing it. She is a full scholarship athlete who deferred initially, so her scholarship was given to a returning grad student. She then decided not enter LSU after all, but by then her scholarship was given away. She will be back on full scholarship next season.
Let’s not act like she is actually paying for school. LSU has a strangle hold on NIL and has LOTS of NIL funds that Konnor “walking on” but getting her freshman year at LSU fully paid for.
No one is hating on LSU, they are commenting on the over scoring, which is absolutely true. Let’s not pretend that LSU is getting 10s that are actually 10s.
She decided TO enter LSU after all and NOT defer.
Instead of an asterisk by certain scores, one could implement, as Spencer so politely described it, the FSE — flattering score environment
