198.270
Oklahoma set a program record on Friday with 198.675 which, shockingly, increased the team’s NQS. Oklahoma now sits on 198.270, meaning that last year’s all-time NQS record of 198.355 is in sight, requiring a 198.325 on Friday to tie and a 198.350 to pass. Oklahoma competes twice this weekend, so if it doesn’t happen on Friday, there will be another chance on Sunday.

LSU did the job of increasing its road scores over the weekend with a 197.950 in the loss against Florida—a score that is now guaranteed to count with just two road meets remaining. LSU competes at home this weekend so won’t be able to get rid of any more of those 197s and will therefore be at the mercy of how Cal performs to determine who is #2 next week.

Cal’s program record (notice a trend?) on Sunday of 198.400 moved the team back into striking distance of LSU with the chance to jump into 2nd place by scoring 197.950 or better this weekend against Utah regardless of what LSU scores.

Utah’s first 198 of the season was enough to secure 4th place this week, which will also be the goal next week since Utah cannot catch Cal or LSU with its next score. A score of at least 197.925 would mean staying ahead of Florida and hanging onto 4th.

Florida also secured its first 198 of the season as the scores now look much healthier for a potential #1 regional seeding than they did a few weeks ago. Florida could pass Utah this week depending on Utah (as long as Florida goes 197.575 it’s possible, then it’s up to Utah’s score), but will also be looking out for at least a 197.750 to guarantee a top-5 spot regardless of what everyone else does.

Kentucky’s 197.150 over the weekend was not a keeper, so no change in NQS there. As for this weekend, Kentucky would really love another home 197.775+ in order to ensure hanging onto 6th.
The next batch of the rankings is subject to fluctuation this weekend since #10 UCLA actually has the highest potential NQS of the teams in this 7-10 zone. Because UCLA still has that road 196.550 to drop, anything over 197.950 against Stanford on Friday means UCLA has at least a spot in the top 7 for next week regardless of what Michigan, Michigan State, and Alabama score.
The next-highest peak belongs to #9 Alabama, which can move ahead of both Michigans by scoring a 197.925 regardless of what the Michigans do.
