Barani Mount (Wong)

Balance beam

Skill type

Known as
Barani mount
Front tuck 1/2 mount

Named after
Hiu Ying Angel Wong (HKG)

It’s a bit surprising that the barani is such a new mount, only being named after Angel Wong when we performed it at the 2012 Olympics. You would have thought some team-borderline Soviet daredevil would have done it in like 1987 and become an internet legend several decades later. Actually, she probably did.

The barani mount has pretty much been the purview of no one else since because of its extreme difficulty. It was also not upgraded when many of the other mounts were upgraded, making it seem a little under-rewarded by comparison.

Because gymnastics is a comedy, not a drama
