Missouri’s visit to LSU and Kentucky’s visit to Georgia kick things off today, with Florida and Alabama following not long after.

Neither Alabama nor Missouri have been into the 197s yet this year, and both will view today’s competitions as prime opportunities to do so. Given what we’ve seen so far this season, it will be tough for Alabama to challenge Florida, but the team will primarily be after the kind of score today that outpaces Kentucky and Missouri and maybe LSU depending on how things go. LSU should face enough of a challenge from Missouri that they’ll need to aim to replicate the kind of score we saw on Monday to feel OK about life.

Looks like Amari Celestine is in today for Missouri. LSU has Brock in again on vault and Tatum in again on bars. No Wilson.

Rotation 1

Arenas – VT – LSU – good amplitude on yfull, medium bounce back on landing, controls to minimize it though. 9.825

Schreiber – UB – MU – maloney, a bit of legs into bail, horrific camera angle to start – a bit short on hs on high – DLO, comes in slightly deep, hop forward. 9.825

Shchennikova – VT – LSU – Y1.5 – better block today, good amplitude, lunge forward, some knees. 9.875

Lawrence – UB – MU – maloney to pak, good legs together position – some loose back position in 1/2 turn on low bar – blind to double front, step forward. Good. 9.850

Katie Finnegan is in on vault for Georgia this week. Large judge split, 9.700 to 9.850.

Brock – VT – LSU – clean body position on Y1.5 – lunge forward, a bit larger than Shchennikova’s. 9.850

Celestine – UB – MU – toe on to maloney, legs together – pak, arched position but a LOT better than last season – 1/2 turn on low – foot movement hesitation stepping on up high – toe on pike 1/2, stuck. Nice. 9.850

KJ Johnson – VT – LSU – found the solid landing on her yfull today, but definite small direction deduction there. 9.900

Sheremeta – UB – MU – good first hs – blind to jaeger, small amount of elbows, flexed feet, connects to good overshoot – rudi dismount,, stuck. nice.

Finnegan – VT – LSU – more control on the Omel today, still a .1 pace forward, but smaller in size. 9.850

Moore – UB – MU – tkatchev, high into overshoot, some hip angle in the air that combination but good amplitude – FTDT, small slide back. 9.875

Bryant – VT – LSU – nailed her handspring pike 1/2 today, the question is whether she scooted back or just brought her heels together on stick.

And it’s a 10.000 for Bryant. I might have said 9.950 since my view is that any movement is not a stick, but not surprised by 10 here. It’s just an issue of landing. It wasn’t like the Carey clear hop from last weekend.

Hu – UB – MU – Church was huge but she hit her foot on the low bar swinging through and had to come off.  Pak to stand. Drag.

So LSU gets the big score from the anchor and Missouri does not, which will create some separation early.

After 1: LSU 49.475, Missouri 49.250

Good vaulting for LSU, scores high but normal-high. Most of them honed their landings a little from the week before, shrinking the size of the steps.

Meanwhile, Georgia gets a pretty charitable 49.225 on vault to take a lead on Kentucky’s 49.100 on bars.

Rotation 2

Lawrence – VT – MU – yfull, body position throughout, knees, hop back. 9.750

Jeffrey – UB – LSU – maloney to pak, leg separation – 1/2 turn on low bar, a bit late – borderline cast hs on high – FTDT, good amplitude, finds landing. 9.925 is….something.

McCrary – VT – MU – hits yfull, will get deducted for dynamics, some pike position, step back. 9.775

Arenas – UB – LSU – good first hs – tkatchev to pak, legs apart on pak – quick 1/2 turn on low – a bit short on final cast hs – DLO, slight piking, small hop back. 9.850

Angeny hits a good bars for Georgia in her Kentucky clash.

Schreiber – VT – MU – better form on her yfull but comes in a little deep with a slide back.

Tatum – UB – LSU – borderline first hs – ray to pak, feet on ray – 1/2 turn on low – better final cast hs this week – FTDT, feet apart, finds the stick. Much improved. Could merit the score from last time. Or get 9.900.

Davis – VT – MU – hits a Y1.5 but comes in a little short with a step back. Still gets 9.825 just cuz.

Finnegan – UB – LSU – good piked jaeger – arch on high bar, pulls it back – lovely toe position but losing her back posiution a coupel times her – double arabian, finds the stick. 9.850. TFW you have an actual obvious deduction so get no reward for your superior form compared to people who are throwing out just anything.

Celestine – VT – MU – ahhh what happened? Stopped her run in the middle so she can go again. Trip? does a Y1.5 on her second attempt and hits it, large lunge forward and some direction. 9.775

Shchennikova – UB – LSU – ah I see we’re getting the far angle so we can’t talk about any of the deductions. Clever, clever. Chest down and step forward on the DLO landing this week. 9.775

Moore – VT – MU – ncie Y1.5, nearly finds the stick, step salute and some direction. 9.875

Bryant – UB – LSU – blind to jaeger, hit – bail, clean position – double front 1/2 out, finds the stick with a little body adjustment, nice. 9.900

A 49.325 on bars for Georgia will extend the lead over Kentucky, which had some landing troubles in numerous places in that vault lineup.

After 2: LSU 98.900, Missouri 98.300.

Florida and Alabama starting now.

Shania Adams was super high on her yfull but also came in verrry deep and somehow held the stick? 9.675

Richards – UB – UF – maloney with legs into bail – short cast hs on high – DLO, legs apart, some feet, slide back. 9.725

Mitchell – VT – Alabama – Y1/2, overcooks it with a large lunge (.2) and an extra step. 9.700

Not the best start to this one…..

Blakely – UB – UF – maloney to pak, good legs in pak, some break in maloney – pretty solid 1/2 turn on low – good hs on high – toe 1/2 to front giant to double front, cowboy, holds the stick. One of her best ones. 9.775 seems actually kind of tight. I mean real, so for Florida standards, it’s insanely low.

Little – VT – Alabama – very much changing up the lineup today – hits a yfull, a bit flatter, slight pike – hop back. 9.775

Nguyen – UB – UF – good first hs on low – maloney to pak, small leg breaks on both – DLO, pretty, finds the nice. Nice finish. 9.900

Hudson – VT – Alabama – good height on Y1.5, comes in just a hair under but steps to the side instead of back, which was a good move. 9.875 is still a lot for that though.

DiCello – UB – UF – Ray, elbows, good height – nice cast hs – pak, clean to toe on to van leeuwen, legs together – maybe a bit short on final cast hs – FTDT, holds the stick, little lean. 9.925.

Gladieux – VT – Alabama – big full, pretty in the air, good distance, medium bounce back. 9.850.

Missed Rivers on beam for LSU but she’s at 9.175.

Thomas – UB – UF – good hs – maloney to pak, pretty – good hs on low – toe on to van leeuwen, clean – short hs on high bar tofday – DLO, little bounce up in place. Pretty as always, not a 10 today though. 9.925

Paradise – VT – Alabama – strong Y1.5 – hop forward, not too big, some knees. 9.900

Shchennikova on beam for LSU in the second spot, some checks, staying on, I think they’ll probably give her series but it’s risky.

Wong – UB – UF – maloney to pak, clean – good hs on low – van leeuwen, love her late twist – vertical hs on high – DLO, finds the stick again. Beautiful. I have at least .05 body position in her final cast hs though. 9.900.

After 1:
Florida 49.425
Alabama 49.100

Slow starts for both teams, but they pulled it together better in the later routines. Not a great rotation for Alabama, though. They’ll feel fortunate to get out of there with a 49.

Shchennikova goes 9.700 on beam for LSU, which will have to count. Big save from Ballard on her punch front on beam in the third spot, leg up to horizontal but she kept it on the beam. Saved the meet. Still goes 9.650 though, which will also have to count.

Also Georgia’s like basically going to get a 198 in this meet. It’s been, verrrrry friendly but this is also a legitimately pretty beam rotation so far.

Arenas – BB – LSU – switch to split, secure, a bit of back leg in split – bhs loso, arm wave to keep it on – kickover, secure – was going pretty well but her 1.5 dismount got negative amplitude, short with a step back. 9.750

Rotation 2

Clark – VT – UF – yfull – some of her best body position on vault – comes in a bit short with a hop up. 9.775

Hudson – UB – Alabama – arch on first hs – maloney to bail, hit, legs together on bail – better cast hs on high – giant full, solid finish position into double tuck, stuck. 9.775

Edwards – VT – UF – great amplitude on her yfull, very large bounce back. 9.825. That’s a pretty large bounce for 9.825

Little – UB – Alabama – good first hs – maloney and peels off, couldn’t get hands over. Resumes with redoing her mlaoney, gets it into pak, small leg break – good cast hs on high – DLO, hop back. Has the form to make it into this lineup regularly. 9.200

Richards – VT – UF – hits her Y1.5, was a bit under, covered it with a quick hop back. 9.875. I mean, it was still a short landing though…

Bryant goes 9.900 on beam to start saving the rotation for LSU.

Paradise – UB – Alabama – good first hs vbertical – ling to jaeger, hit – bail, secure – nearly a perfect hs on high but too perfect, went over the other way and falls. Alabama counting a bars fall now. 9.300

Finnegan finishes beam for LSU, pretty bhs loso loso series – switch to split, awkward split for her with a low back leg, which is definitely not her normal – aerial, hit – stuck gainer full.

DiCello – VT – UF – a bit better on her Y1.5 this week, still a bit under, small shuffle back. 9.850 isn’t the 9.900 she got last week, but still not really the instructions for short vault with movement back.

Waligora – UB – Alabama – good first hs – blind to ojaeger to overshoot, good amplitude – Kathy is not happy with her pause on low bar and neither am I – DLO 1/1, bounce back. Better one.

Wong – VT – UF – 1/2 on pike 1/2, some of her best amplitude on that vault but a large bounce back this week. 9.800

Finnegan got 9.950 on beam to save LSU for 48.950 in that rotation.

Machado – UB – Alabama – maloney to pak, small leg breaks – toe on to van leeuwen, slightly crossed body in the catch – toe full to double tuck, stuck. 9.875

Thomas – VT – UF – Y1.5 – beautiful, small hop forward. 9.900

So we’re going to watch Paradise’s Y1.5 for 9.900 and Thomas’s Y1.5 for 9.900 and they’re going to be of equivalent quality, right? RIGHT?

Blanco – UB – Alabama – pak, pretty – good hs on low – toe on to van leeuwenb, clean – maybe rushes hs on high a little – FTDT, holds the stick with an arm swim.

Blanco goes 9.900 so Alabama is on 48.675 there. Florida 49.250 on vault with another not ideal landing day.

After 2:
Florida 98.675
Alabama 97.775

After 3:
LSU 147.850
Missouri 147.575

Missouri picked up over three tenths there, but the deficit was very large before that.

Georgia 147.800
Kentucky 147.350

Georgia almost has the highest score after 3…

Lawrence opens beam for Missouri in the final rotation with a stick on her 1.5 dismount.

Ballard good control on DLO – lower on amplitude in her middle pass to stag jump – switch ring to switch 1/2, a bit of split angle on her ring – double pike, solid.

Rotation 3

Burgess – BB – Alabama – smooth full turn – one arm bhs to loso, solid – side aerial, solid – switch to beat jump – cat leap to switch side, secure – gainer pike, some chest position, good stick – extreme college salute. 9.900

DiCello – FX – Florida – front 2/1, crossover step – swtich ring to switch 1/2, hit, can attack that switch ring more – wolf single – 1.5 to front full, solid landing – 9.800

Lewis – BB – Alabama – we’re seeing most of those first years this week, which is nice, even if it’s been a bit….shaky – wolf turn has some low free leg, a bit ragged – split to stag ring, hit, small hesitation after – bhs loso, good height, leg up to horizontal – aerial to sissone, nice aerial position, short of sissone – gainer full, holds it. 9.775, gets away with it

Nguyen – FX – Florida – front 2/1 to lovely sissone, just a bit of leg crossing in twist – switch to switch 1/2, lovely positions – y turn to full turn combination – back 1.5 to front lay, clean layout position but didn’t really rise. 9.850

Brock with a stumble back OOB in the third spot for LSU on floor, but two countables before that. Missouri already has a 9.6 and 9.575 on beam.

Waligora – BB – Alabama – full turn, good – bhs loso series, secure landing, slightly tight position – side aerial, nice amplitude – split jump to tuck jump full ti beat jump, gets the tuck around – 1.5, holds the stick with a lean. 9.800

Baumann – FX – Florida – wolf double, comfortable – back 1.5 to front full, takes it pretty far and does a little hesitation shuffle to keep herself in bounds – nice high switch side to straddle jump, everyone else quit – double pike, a bit short with a step forward. 9.825

Hu is on beam for Missouri meanwhile – gorgeous mount work – y spin, stylish – aerial to aerial to scale, perfection – beat to split jump 3/4, on and around, a little compression to hold it – gainer full, low but holds the stick today. 9.925

Gladieux hit beam for Alabama while that was happening. 9.850

Wong – FX – Florida – hits her arabian double pike, was short and danced out of it instead of doing the stag connection – switch 1/2 to popa to popa, pulled them around to solid finish position – back 1/2 to front full, slightly low but controls it. 9.875

Hudson – BB – Alabama – aerail to bhs loso, hit, small adjustment at the hips – switch to beat – side aerial, whips arms back to avoid a check – 1.5 dismount, slide salute. 9.850

It’s a fall from Aleah Finnegan on floor on her opening pass.

Thomas – FX – Florida – DLO, huge, controls the front foot well – split leap full to popa to popa, a bit indistinct on landing position but good split positions and ends in the right place – front full to a stuck front lay, excellent. 9.950. Slacking.

Blanco – BB – Alabama – aerial, lovely – full turn, hit – bhs loso, no trouble today, good toe point – switch ring, great position, keeps it going into beat jump – 1.5 dismount, bounce forward.

LSU is done on 197.100 to Missouri’s 196.525.

Georgia is done on 197.225 to Kentucky’s 196.575.

So Georgia won, just like you figured.

Hurd – FX – UF – front lay to front full, a bit of knees – lunge forward but keeps back foot down – switch ring, loses her foot into the attempt at switch ring 1/2, kind of does it but just for the GIFs – split leap 1.5 and pulls it around – double pike, chest well down, and a stagger bounce forward. 9.675

So that will be 49.300 on floor for Florida to 49.250 on beam for Alabama. Neither team really knocking it out today. Florida leads by nearly a point.

Meanwhile Auburn and Arkansas has started.

Scalzo up 2nd for Arkansas on bars, following 9.825 for Swaney.

Scalzo – UB – Ark – short first hs – blind to jaeger, good feet into overshoot – not quite there on cast handstands – DLO, some hips, small hop back. Good. 9.825

Hubbard up 3rd on vault for Auburn – Y1.5, some knees hop forward. Coming after two 9.7s.

Drotar – UB – Ark – good first hs – toe on to maloney to bail, slightly crooked, legs together – short hs on high – DLO, open hits, small step back.

Stevens – VT – Auburn – pretty good control on y1.5, small slide forward – knees throughout, and probably a height deduction. Or not because 9.925.

Jones – UB – Ark – solid first hs position – piked jaeger, a bit close but fine – pak, clean body shape, good amplitude – well short on 1/2 turn on low bar – short cast hs on high DLO, finds the stick.

Rotation 4 underway fro Florida and Alabama.

Blakely – BB – Florida – good aerial into bhs – switch to switch 1/2 to beat, nice first switch, loses foot position in switch 1/2 – gainer full bounce back. 9.800

Suni Lee vaults her 1/2 on tuck 1/2, nearly stuck, could have sold it, step back as she saluted. Still gets 9.950 even though that step is .100

Waligora – FX – Alabama – front lay to front 2/1, just gets it around but takes a crossover step, some knees – back 1.5 to front lay, good layout, a bit too large on slide forward.

Gobourne pretty in the air on vault, small shuffle back. Flatley on bars to anchor Arkansas – hiuggins to jaeger, pretty – small arch in cast hs on high toe on to bail, hit – a couple shortish vertical positions – clean DLO, good stick.

Lazzari – BB – Florida – bhs loso loso series, lovely – switch, small check before split jump, wobble – aerial, pretty – full turn – bhs 1.5 dismount, good stick. Don’t think they’ll deny dance combo credit there, but she opened the door for them to do so. 9.850. They didn’t.

Every time Sam starts talking, the gymnast makes a mistake.

Auburn 49.275 to Arkansas 49.225.

Machado – FX – Alabama – double pike, little bounce back, front foot moving – switch to switch 1/2, love the angle where we just saw the back of everyone’s heads, kathy’s going to cut someone – 1.5 to front pike, hesitation step there – wolf triple – double tuck, chest well down, large lunge forward. 9.675

Nguyen – BB – Florida – onodi, mostly keeps moving to bhs – y spin to full turn, quickly connected there – swtich to split, good positions, small arm adjustment cover – bhs 1.5 dismount, slide forward. 9.825

Adams – FX – Alabama – double pike, controls – switch 1/2 to tuck jump 1.5, hit, surprised more people don’t take advantage of that option – wolf double – 1.5 to front lay, gets it around, lower amplitude. 9.900

DiCello – BB – Florida – candle mount, good vertical – wolf double, smooth – switch to split, no trouble – bhs loso, holds it, does well not to check – aerial, smoothly done – bhs gainer full, high, small hop back. Good one. 9.925

Gladieux – FX – Alabama – high FTDT, kind of cannonballs it, gets good height – split leap full to popa, around – front lay to rudi to split jump, some travel backward – 9.900

Wong – BB – Florida – switch to split leap, lovely – bhs loso, controls – full turn, nice – aerial to beat, good attention to amplitude in beat – 2/1, legs, slide back. 9.875

Also these vault scores Arkansas is getting are unique…

Hudson – FX – Alabama – front lay to front 2/1, controls the step, a bit of leg crossing – switch 1/2 to wolf full, a bit low on wolf position, nice switch – 2.5 twist, out of control lunge sideward, couldn’t tell from this angle if she stayed in – double tuck, hop to present. Just stays in bounds on replay. 9.925…hugghhgh???? With that middle pass, and that last pass?

Thomas – BB – Florida – switch mount – split leap, pretty – full turn, holds it to show you that she can actually do this – one arm bhs to loso, no trouble – aerial to 2 feet, holds it securely this time – beat to korbut, nice – side aerial to 1.5 dismount, dismount is short this week, lunge to the side. 9.875

Blanco – FX – Alabama – good wolf double – double pike, controls the landing well – high double tuck, little slide back – switch ring to switch 1/2 – finishes front full to front lay with a dance out.

Suni going on bars for Auburn now – blind to jaeger to pak to maloney, legs to gienger, solid – nice cast hs on high – giant full, good to double tuck, stuck. This will be a good test of Suni scoring, because between the legs on maloney and body position/amplitude on pak, there are things you should take here.

9.975. One of them tried.

Blanco went 9.950 to get Alabama to 49.425 on floor somehow and a 196.450 final.

FINAL:
Florida 197.325
Alabama 196.450

Honestly neither team putting that one in a museum.

After 2: Auburn 98.650, Arkansas 98.550. So this one is close.

Meanwhile Cal and Arizona are underway. Cal with 9.875 on the first two bars routines, and now it’s Perea – good frist hs – clean pak, legs togehter, nice hs on low – toe on to a bizarre van leeuwen attempt, missed her foot? tucked it and did a 1/2 turn and falls.

Rotation 3

Hollingsworth – bhs loso, check, bend at the waist – switch to switch 1/2, under split, to beat jump – gainer full, stuck. 9.725

Jones – FX – Arkansas – front 2/1, saves it, came in under, avoided too large of a step – switch ring to switch 1/2 – back 1.5 to front lay, kind of whips it over but hit – rudi, solid control. 9.800

Brusch – BB – Auburn – full turn, very slight hesitation – aerail to split jump, hit – bhs loso, secure ladning – swtich, back leg, into switch 1/2, solid – gainer full, stuck. 9.850

Hickey – FX – Arkansas – double pike, hit, little bounce – 1.5 to front lay, a bit of hips, controlled – solid popa position – double tuck, bounce back. 9.825

Cal was able to drop the fall from Perea with two 9.950s from Williams and Li. They go 49.425.

Stevens – BB – Auburn – bhs loso loso, adjustment, small turn to the side and some knees – split ring is hit – kickover to knee, very small correction today – wolf turn – 1.5 dismount, holds the stick with knees.

Lovett – FX – Arkansas – hits her DLO, chest forward today with a lean forward present – good height on double tuck but a large stagger back, a couple steps – switch 1/2 to popa, around – front lay to front full, under, lunge to the side. 9.750

Groth – BB – Auburn – bhs loso bhs, surprised every time that it’s great like a cat finding its water dish anew every single day – switch 1/2 is hit –  side aerial to tuck 1.5, slide back on landing. 9.900

Williams – FX – Arkansas – FTDT, good chest up, controls the step – back 1.5 to lay, clean position – switch side to popa, around – double tuck, small slide back. 9.900

McLaughlin – BB – Auburn – switch to bhs loso, nice toes, right on – side aerial, secure – switch to straddle 1/4 with a check, arm wave – gainer pike, good stick. 9.900

Flatley – FX – Arkansas – 3/1, around, small foot adjustment today – yes, we want to hear all this yammering during Norah’s floor – front 2/1, just a little shy with a step back – switch ring to switch 1/2 – back 1.5 to front lay is hit, good height on front lay. 9.900

Also everything is a 9.9. No skills, all vibes.

Lee – BB – Auburn – wolf double, no trouble – split to sissone, hit – switch, check before switch 1/2 – side aerial to loso loso, small arm wave – gainer tuck full off the end with a step-salute. 9.850

Price – FX – Arkansas – DLO, nicely done, good control – switch side to popa, great amplitude – back 1.5 to front pike, a bit of legs – double pike, chest forward and a stagger on landing. 9.875

49.300s for both teams in that one, so it will remain close.

After 3:
Auburn 147.950
Arkansas 147.850

Meanwhile Cal with no eMjae Frazier will have a very low number on vault, and now a fall in the anchor spot from Brown. Yikers.

Rotation 4

Gamiao – BB – Arkansas – standing loso loso, very solid – side somi, wobble, holds it – switch to split, a bit low on back leg – 1.5, stuck landing. 9.875

We’re going to see 19 tens in this rotation.

Hollingsworth – FX – Auburn – open FTDT, little rebound, good chest up – switch 1/2 to popa, solid – front tuck through to double tuck, chest down but controlled step. 9.900

Lovett – BB – Arkansas – aerial, check – redoes it, aerial, another check lean into loso – swtich to split, arm wave correction – beat jump – gainer tuck full off the end, hop to the side. 9.550

Brusch – FX – Auburn – front tuck through to double tuck, chest up, small rebound – switch 1/2 to popa to wolf full, around, not quite up to every position – double pike, stagger on landing, also keeps it under control. 9.850

We have a convo about Lovett’s beam. Wonder if one of the judges didn’t give acro series.

Swaney – BB – Arkansas – wobble on walkover mount – full turn, hit – bhs loso loso, manages to keep herself on the beam but grabs the beam for .3 – switch to split jump, hit – bhs 1.5 dismount, step forward

No, Bridget. A fall is .5, grabbing the beam is .3

9.450

Groth – FX – Auburn – front 2/1, under control – switch 1/2 to wolf full, nice positions there – 1.5, misses her punch and sits down her intended layout in combo. This meet is falling apart. Where are the 10s? Finishes with a secure rudi. 9.300

Hambrick – BB – Arkansas – full turn, hit – bhs loso and falls – Arkansas switched bars to beam this week – switch to switch 1/2 – beat to straddle 3/4, lean correction – gainer full, holds the stick but leans way forward past horizontal to do so. 9.275

Stevens – FX – Auburn – front lay to rudi, controls the lunge, some body position on layout – split leap full to wolf full, shows split positions – double tuck, holds the stick, chest forward. 9.875

Weaver – BB – Arkansas – bhs loso loso, right on – switch to straddle, good straddle position shown – 1.5, stuck landing. Much better. 9.950 is a little, we’re sorry about the previous routines, but a good one.

Lee – FX – Auburn – DLO, chest up better, rebound back – switch ring to split leap full, solid – 1.5 to front full, a little low, gets it around securely –

9.975. OK. How.

Flatley – BB – Arkansas – aerial to bhs loso, right on – L turn to split to beat, keeps the leg just at horizontal – bhs 1.5, small slide back. Nice. 9.900

Gobourne – FX – Auburn – Ok she almost stepped OOB going into the corner for her first pass, she didn’t but we all saw that right – open double tuck, small rebound – switch side to wolf full, nice height and pretty positions – front full to front lay, lovely, does pretty well to control the step out – double tuck, small movement. Good one.

We have a 10.000/9.900 split there for 9.950. A couple lack of control landings there, but they wanted to give it sooo badly for her and Suni. 49.550 rotation.

FINAL

  1. Charitable vault scores at UGA is an understatement. Funny how when they are not at home they were barely getting 9.80’s. Have the judges seen some of the best fulls in the country they actually block off the horse.

    1. UGA has notoriously been overscored at home, especially in important meets.

Who can forget the 2019 regionals in Georgia, where they somehow broke 198.0 to advance over superior teams in Cal and Kentucky.
It was laughable because the team high was 197.5, they scored a 197.3 in the semi-finals, and their season average was a 196.8. But somehow they were a 198 team when it came to advancing from home regionals. They went into 2019 Nationals as the #3 seed!

It’s fine though, let CKC have her moment for this meet. They will finish dead last at SEC and get eliminated in the first round of regionals again.

  2. I think the vault judges misheard “don’t *just* judge the landing” as “don’t judge the landing”

  3. Georgia always has crazy scoring at home and then it is reality check at away meets. The judges spreads are again questionable Hawthorne on beam had a 9.95 and a 9.85?

  4. Love that I’m not the only one who noticed Leanne’s late twist on her Van Leeuwen. You think she won’t make it around, but she always does.

  5. GAGE can Leeuwen’s are always late, making the kip handstand out harder than it has to be. Not a prob in NCAA, but it’s why her dbl lay dismount in elite at the end of a longer routine is iffy

  6. Morgan Hurd “split leap 1.5 and pulls it around”? She lands with her feet facing the corner. Pretty sure that’s only a split leap 1/1.
