Alabama’s visit to Florida and Georgia’s visit to Kentucky get us started today. Of note, Procasky is back in Kentucky’s prospective competitor list and Gormley is out, while Cashman is out for Georgia and Holly Snyder is in. Gladieux remains out for Alabama.
Rotation 1
Linuep switch for Florida. They originally had Edwards leading off. Now Draser.
Meanwhile Rodriguez started vault for Kentucky with yfull, chest down today with a hop forward. 9.725 High tkatchev for Fitzgerald in a hit leadoff bars for Georgia.
“Tonight is about not being perfect.” Bridget and I have the same motto. Lots of vamping they have to do in a start delay in Florida.
Draser – VT – Florida – hits her Y1.5, comes in a little short with a step back and some knees. I’d say should be around 9.750, so we’ll use that as a standard. And it scores 9.825, so not unexpected there.
Lacoursiere – UB – Alabama – maloney to pak, lovely legs together – hits cast hs on low – van leeuwen, smooth – rushed that final cast hs – FTDT dismount, deep landing with a hop forward. Lost her score there at the end, was great to start. 9.825
Pilgrim – VT – Florida – good work on y1.5, hop forward, a bit of knees. And we’re on 9.925.
Waligora – UB – Alabama – hits first hs – blind, small flash of legs apart – jaeger and falls, takes it too far.
Snyder in the bars lineup for Georgia, making her debut, Church to bail is hit, a bit of angle catching bail – legs together casts – giant full to double tuck, good toe point, holds onto landing. They’ll definitely want it. 9.850, highest for Georgia so far.
Good handspring pike 1/2 for Magnelli of Kentucky in the fourth spot, pulls her chest up, little rebound. And it goes 9.925
Lazzari – VT – Florida – into vault today, y1/5 is very short, sits it down.
Pawlak – UB – Alabama – good first hs – maloney, gets it into clear hip, connects to a clean bail – short final cast hs on high – DLO, holds onto the stick with a lean.
Nguyen – VT – Florida – y1.5, nearly finds the stick, good one, small scoot back in salute, a bit of knee position.
One judge goes 10.000 and the other 9.950. Gird yourself. That was not a stick. And we have knees to deduct for.
And now we have a 10.000 for Wilson on vault for Kentucky. That was a stick. I would have had a foot position deduction. Excellent excitement closeup of Ryan in there.
Lily Smith follows her in the anchor spot for Georgia but hands chest down and short on her dismount with a step, so won’t be back to back 10s. We think. Who can say.
Wong – VT – Florida – round off 1/2 on pike 1/2, good one, chest up more than sometimes, small bounce back. We’ll see if they decide to see it. Unclear. 9.950.
Doggette – UB – Alabama – hits tkatchev to pak, good amplitude – another with a short cast hs on high – pretty DLO, good landing.
Ferris – VT – Florida – Y1.5, lands super short, does an important job of avoiding a fall, but a very short landing, two large steps back.
Blanco – UB – Alabama – good first hs – maloney to pak, legs together well – hits cast hs on high – van leeuwen, legs together – FTDT, hop back. Nice.
9.600 for Ferris is something.
After 1
Alabama 49.375
Florida 49.275
It looked like that one was going a different direction for most of the rotation. Alabama was iffy to start but pulled it back with clean sets from Blanco and Doggette. Florida had some nice 1.5s and some very nice home scoring, but then a fall and an almost-a-fall and still somehow ended up with 49.275. Went for the risk by pulling Edwards for Lazzari. Didn’t pay off but an eye toward later in the year when they need it.
Kentucky has over half a point on Georgia after the first rotation with a 49.550 on vault, punctuated with the Wilson 10.
Lily Smith is also in on vautl for Georgia this week, near stick on a clean yfull, not the very most dynamic. Definitely want it in this lineup. 9.800
Rotation 2
Sears – VT – Alabama – yfull, good dynamics on hers – small hop back. Solid. 9.825
Blakely – UB – Florida – maloney with some leg separation into pak, clean – some elbows – 1/2 turn to double front, cowboy, holds onto stick with a lean forward. 9.875
Lacoursiere – VT – Alabama – hits a y1.5 in this lineup, lands off line, left foot outside the area, with a hop back. 9.725
Nguyen – UB – Florida – good first hs – maloney to pak, small leg separation – struggles to recast up to handstand, can’t get to vertical and falls
We have a stuck Y1.5 from Wahl on vault for Georgia. 9.925
Hudson – VT – Alabama – y1.5, pretty work, definitely stuck, better than Nguyen’s so we’ll see what they do.
And it’s a 10.000 for Hudson. They had to after 9.975 for Nguyen.
Disidore – UB – Florida – maloney to pak, good – van leeuwen, small leg break – hs looked a bit tight – DLO, step back. 9.800
Blanco – VT – Alabama – y1.5, lovely in the air, small hop forward – shows why you still don’t want Hudson’s to be a 10 because Blanco’s was higher and more laid out, showing that you have to leave room for those who can do it better.
Pilgrim – UB – Florida – htis maloney to pak, a bit of hip angle in there – FTDT, hop forward. A solid hit, can take for some vertical positions and body positions
TWIST – Gladieux into the vault lineup. She was not initially list. Does a yfull, some pike forward and a hop up in place.
Lazzari – UB – Florida – tkatchev, clean – toe on to pak, small leg break at the end, lovely height – better on 1/2 turn on low – FTDT, hop to the side. 9.925.
Doggette – VT – Alabama – yfull, medium sized bounce back, fine
Wong – UB – Florida – maloney to pak – hits cast hs on low – van leeuwen, clean – solid hs on high – DLO, hop back.
Well, this meet is as drunk as we would have expected after 2 rotations.
I haven’t been watching all of the Kentucky/Georgia meet but have it on to the side and it looks like right now they’re doing a feature about Mollie Korth’s dad, which is correct.
9.900 for Wong as Florida goes 49.350 on bars to Alabama’s 49.400 on vault.
After 2:
Alabama 98.775
Florida 98.625
Roller coaster of quality here, but honestly both teams will mostly feel like they had the opportunity to get a 198.5 at this meet the way it is being evaluated and they haven’t taken advantage of the opportunity.
Rotation 3
Draser – BB – Florida – bhs loso, secure and smooth – switch to switch 1/2, on – 1.5 dismount, small leg separation, pretty big hop forward. 9.825
Burgess – FX – Alabama – double pike, little slide back with front foot there – double tuck, chest up, solid control – switch side 1/2 to straddle 3/4 – front full to front lay, a bit of knees, controls the step. 9.875
Blakely – BB – Florida – aerail to bhs, solid connection – split leap to switch 1/2 to beat jump, on the beam, some foot position in switch 1/2 – switch, small hesitation before gainer full. 9.925
Machado – FX – Alabama – double tuck, pretty much controlled, some foot flexing – wolf triple, nice low position, hits wolf double – back 1.5 to front lay, lower amplitude – switch to switch 1/2 nice. 9.875
Pilgrim – BB – Florida – hits candle mount – bhs loso, good layout position, nice – full turn, a little tentative but hits it – beat to aerial, very slight adjustment working out of it – switch to split leap, good – gainer full, a bit of legs, stuck. Good. 9.925
Sears – FX – Alabama – DLO, comfortable for her, bit of a hop on landing – switch ring to split leap full, good – front tuck through to double tuck, awkwardly steppy on landing but minimizes the trouble mostly. 9.800
Lazzari – BB – Florida – bhs loso loso, hits, every so small lean at the hips – switch to split jump, perfect – aerial, holds it well depsite being a little under, no check – but a wobble on full turn – gainer full, hop back. 9.900
Hudson – FX – Alabama – front 2/1, lovely, step forward under control – switch 1/2 to wolf full, great foot position – double tuck, under control, some foot flexing in that one. 9.925
Nguyen – BB – Florida – onodi, keeps movement going into bhs well – full turn, nice – switch to split jump, right on – bhs 1.5, some leg crossing, step forward. 9.900
Gladieux – FX – Alabama – in on floor as well today after not being in initially – FTDT, chest down, some foot position, hops to present – split leap full to popa, lovely – front lay to rudi to split jump, leg crossing in rudi, more ragged than her best but they obviously want it in the lineup. 9.825
Jaydah Battle falls on floor for Georgia, so they’ll have to count Williams’ 9.575 from when she had to tuck her layout in combination.
Wong – BB – Florida – switch mount, hit into split leap, nice – bhs loso, large break, leg up wobble – full turn, nice – aerial, strong – 2/1 dismount, legs, looks like a little bounce back. 9.875 is very kind.
Florida goes 49.525 on beam, which is a more taking-advantage-of-this-scoring kind of total.
Blanco – FX – Alabama – wolf double, hit – double pike, nice foot position, slide back – double tuck, also some rebound there – switch tin to switch 1/2, nice – front full to front lay, that’s a layout position in combination. 9.875
Oklahoma and Denver are underway and Oklahoma is already counting a 9.825 on vault, so there must be some sort of emergency.
Bowers is up 4th on vault for Oklahoma – medium step forward, similar to Levasseur who only got that deducted for 9.900. 9.850 for Bowers.
After 3:
Florida 148.150
Alabama 148.150
So it’s close! Florida will certainly favor its chances now heading to floor. But we’ll see who’s able to go in the lineup.
Wells – VT – OU – good distance on y1.5, lunge forward, some more leg separation on the table. 9.825
Hutchinson – UB – Denver – maloney to pak, leg separation at the end of the pak – finish position on 1/2 turn on low looked good – possible hip angle on hs on high – DLO, good, holds onto landing
Torrez comes up short on her vault landing for Oklahoma, lunge back on y1.5. 9.775
Maybe highlighting that one of the judges in the Florida home meet is a former Florida gymnast isn’t the look you want at a time like this.
Mundell hits a strong bars for Denver in the anchor spot, DLO with some pike, little hop-lean.
Hawthorne in exhibition for OU on vault with an entire tumbling pass out of her landing.
Mundell goes 9.875, which means Denver will have the lead on Oklahoma after 1 (!) with 49.325 on bars. Oklahoma kind of off on vault for 49.175, lots of large landing errors, and the judges weren’t so interested in holding them up in this one.
Rotation 4
Gladieux – BB – Alabama – bhs layout 2 feet, check – aerial, keeps moving to beat jump, another small lean – switch to split jump – 2/1 dismount, some legs, hop back. 9.775
Brubach – FX – Florida – front lay to rudi, bounce back and leg separation – switch 1/2 to wolf full – double tuck, some foot flexing, under control. 9.825
Waligora – BB – Alabama – full turn, not really a check, small squeeze to get it under control – bhs loso, a little tight, pulls it out – side aerial, hit – split jump to tuck jump full, some foot pivot around on landing – 1.5 dismount, good stick.
Nguyen – FX – Florida – front 2/1, good cover to work into her split jump despite having to fight to make that landing a thing – switch ring to switch 1/2, lovely – back 1.5 to front lay, some slide out. 9.850
Burgess – BB – Alabama – full turn, good – one arm bhs to loso, hit, because Kathy isn’t here I will discuss her FINESSE on those landings – side aerial, secure – switch side, a bit crooked with a lean – gainer pike, stuck.
Pilgrim – FX – Florida – front tuck through to double tuck, under control, loose foot positions to deduct – split leap full to jump full jump full, has some travel in that series, good extension – double pike, leg separation, hit. 9.825
Hudson – BB – Alabama – aerial to bhs, smooth – full turn, smooth – switch to switch was way under split there – 1.5 dismount, hop forward
Ragan Smith up 4th on bars for OU, they have 2 9.900s so far. Hits Ray – toe on to pak – 1/2 turn on low, solid vertical – hits cast hs on high – DLO, holds onto landing with a little lean. Good, just the usual small leg breaks in there. 9.900 for her as well.
And we have a 10.000 for Worley for Kentucky on floor. That followed 9.975 for Brose. It;s 197.950 for Kentucky, which is another program record.
Stuck bars dismount for Audrey Davis for Oklahoma, so we’ll see where that goes. 9.925
Adams up 5th on beam for Alabama, holds onto her loso series with a little lean – switch to split, hit but leaning through it – bhs 1.5, little hop legs together
Hutchinson – VT – Denver – Y1.5, leg separation on the table, small hop, and we have 9.950.
Bowers clean on bars in the anchor spot for Oklahoma, arm wave on dismount to hold onto stick. And a 9.975 there.
I feel like in the first rotation they forgot they were judging NCAA gym but now they’ve remembered.
Wong – FX – Florida – double pike, was lovely in the air, like she was going to open out of it but the floor caught up with her, chest down and a bounce – great completion on switch and popas – under control in her lay to front full, not the highest. 9.850
Oklahoma goes 49.600 on bars to Denver’s 49.425 on vault to take a slight lead after two.
Blanco – BB – Alabama – aerial, smooth – full turn, little arm wave correction there – bhs loso loso, lovely foot positions, quick pull chest up to avoid wobble – switch to beat, nice – 1.5, stuck dismount, good. 9.950.
Hurd – FX – Florida – she needs a 9.975 for the win here – front lay to rudi, some knees in layout, rudi bounce back – switch ring to switch 1/2 – double pike, hit, steppy landing with the front foot.
That will be a win for Alabama on 197.575, a half tenth better than last week. Florida is done on 197.425, a season high but also not what they would have been looking for from this one.
Meanwhile at Missouri and LSU, Hannah Horton with a near stick on a very good Y1.5, small foot movement. 9.950
McClain – UB – LSU – good first hs – Church, too far this time with a fall. Still trying to resolve the timing on that one – finishes with a FTDT, deep, lunge forward. 9.175
Celestine – VT – Missouri – Y1.5, high vault but comes in somewhat deep in the squat with a slide back. 9.850 is super high.
Schoenherr – UB – LSU – blind to jaeger, high – toe on to bail, solid – hits final cast hs – double front 1/2, feet, step back
Moore – VT – Missouri – Y1.5, holds onto the landing with a lean and knee bend – some direction – 9.900
Bryant – UB – LSU – blind to jaeger, good height – rushes a cast hs on high – legs together on bail – blind to double front 1/2, out, sticks with a stagger
Missouri goes 49.425 on vault, LSU goes…we’ll see??? THANKS SCORES. Looks like a 49.400, dropping McClain’s fall. Everything here looking like 198 is in the realm of possibility through one.
Oklahoma has started beam with 9.825 and 9.800. Bowers up third – bhs loso, hit – split leap to switch 1/2, good extension – 2/1, small movement back. 9.925
Mundell – FX – Denver – pretty front lay, connects to front full, in danger of the corner but keeps it in – switch to switch 1/1 – double tuck, good foot position, slide back – solid wolf full completion. 9.825
Torrez – BB – OU – wolf jump – side aerial loso and a large break, leg up to horizontal, bend over to the side – switch to straddle, wobble lean – bhs gainer full, stuck. 9.700
Casali – FX – Denver – rudi to layout 2 feet, bounce back – switch full to a wolf 3/4 to a wolf full, a bit under on finish position int he middle there – back 2.5 to front tuck, very good landing – 9.875
KJ Johnson with her biggest landing error of the season on vault for a 9.875. What is consistency of scoring, anyway?
Levasseur – BB – OU – full turn, nice – bhs loso, lean correction – switch to straddle 1/4, hit – cat leap to aerial, smooth – bhs gainer full, back onto heels, holds onto the landing. 9.900
Drayton with a short landing on y1.5 fro LSU, step back. Burns starts Missouri with 9.875 on bars, followed by Light with 9.825.
Ulrich – FX – Denver – open double tuck, bounce back – back 1.5 to front lay, controls the dance out – finishes with control on double pike. 9.925
Smith – BB – OU – bhs loso, holds it – aerial – straddle 1/2 to korbut, excellent – gainer full, holds onto landing. And it’s 9.975. She had a couple squeeze to hold onto it moments in there, which worked.
Finnegan back in the vault lineup for LSU today. Hits Omelianchik, pretty big bounce forward.
Hutchinson – FX – Denver – slightly hoppy on front 2/1 landing – lovely split positions – back 1.5 to front lay, takes it far and horizontal but under control – rudi to a good straddle jump, directly up and under control. Still goes 9.950.
Oklahoma and Denver both go 49.425 in rotation 3 so Oklahoma retains a quarter tenth lead heading to the last event.
5th up on vault for LSU is Kiya Johnson, DTY, a little off to the side today, hops back centrally
Schreiber – UB – Missouri – maloney to bail, gets to vertical on bail int he end – DLO, not the highest, solid position, hop back. 9.875
Bryant – VT – LSU – after a kind of medium rotation, they could use one of hers – handspring pike 1/2, floaty but didn’t control the landing today with a bounce back. 9.900
Titarsolej – UB – Missouri – maloney to pak, legs together well – hits cast hs on high – giant full to doubel tuck, good feet, small step back.
Bart asks Jay what he thinks of LSU’s performance today and he says they’ve got a great crowd here in Missouri, which is more telling about what he thinks of LSU’s performance than any actual answer to the question could be.
Missouri goes 49.400 on bars to LSU’s 49.325 on vault to extend the lead to a tenth after two, 98.825 to 98.725
Rotation 4 from Oklahoma and Denver starting
Thompson – BB – Denver – side aerial to bhs, controls the landing, some flexed feet – switch to switch – side aerial to 1.5 dismount, bounce forward. 9.750
Davis – FX – Oklahoma – front 2/1, a bit of knees, just does control that back foot – switch 1/2 to wolf full to sissone – back 1.5 to front full, hit – 9.875
Iwai – BB – Denver – switch to straddle 1/4, under control, a bit shy in straddle position – bhs loso loso, solid landing – arm wave on full turn – gainer full dismount, gets a little low and a couple hops back on landing. 9.750
Hawthorne – FX – Oklahoma – double pike, great height, bounce back – split leap full to switch split jump full, a little hesitant and bouncy there – front lay to rudi to split jump, under control, some leg crossing in rudi. 9.875
Casali – BB – Denver – full turn, hit – bhs loso loso, big break, step back, lean to the side to keep it on the beam – switch to switch – gainer full, some pike, step back. 9.650
Smith – FX – Oklahoma – double tuck, good feet, short landing though, chest forward, lunge forward – back 1.5 to front lay – switch side, overturns a little into wolf full – double pike, hit. 9.800
McClain hits a solid floor in the 2nd spot for LSU, coming after 9.775 for Ballard. 9.875
Ulrich – BB – Denver – bhs loso, right on – switch, some pause before switch side, hit – aerial, good – 1.5 dismount, hop forward. 9.875
Levasseur – FX – Oklahoma – FTDT, some foot position, chest forward on landing, hops into a controlled position – switch side 1/2 to straddle shushunova, good – back 1.5 to 1/2 to straddle jump, some travel backward. 9.925
Big start for KJ Johnson on floor but she goes OOB on her last pass. 9.725
Mundell – BB – Denver – bhs loso, good height – full turn, over turns by a 1/4 and bends forward at the hips – good hit on switch to switch 1/2 – beat – 1.5 dismount, a bit deep, step forward
Torrez – FX – Oklahoma – DLO, chest a bit forward – leg up hop full, excellent – split leap full to wolf full, very good – front tuck through to double tuck, controls step back. 9.950.
We’re going fully going to the fancy place now.
Finnegan on floor for LSU falls on her 2.5 to front tuck, got no punch and sits it down. Now a 9.725 and 9.775 counting on floor for LSU.
Denver has a beam of a time, scoring 48.975 there to end on 197.150.
Bowers finishes the meet for Oklahoma on floor, back 1.5 to front tuck, solid – double pike, lovely, controls her step back, covers chest being a little forward – switch to switch 1/2 to wolf full, good – 9.950 for her.
Oklahoma goes 197.775 as a final score, aka a drop total.
Drayton – FX – LSU – high DLO, nearly stuck but ended up with a step forward – front tuck through to double tuck, under control well – switch ring to switch 1/2, a little hesitant but fine. 9.875
Schreiber finishes the beam rotation for Missouri, who also has a bunch of 9.7s in this rotation – good full turn – bhs loso series and falls, unexpected development – resumes with a high switch 1/2 to split jump – beat to split jump 3/4, lean – gainer full, stuck. 9.300
Kiya Johnson – FX – LSU – FTDT, some slide back – back 1.5 to front lay, excellent position in the air – switch 1/2 to popa, super high – double pike, hit. 9.900.
LSU 49.150 on floor to Missouri’s 48.900 on beam to give LSU the lead but disappoint both teams because this isn’t going to be THE SCORE today.
This is where I have to call it, heading to GymCastic for the live recap, but we can assume everything will get even weirder in the last rotation.

I took Luisa out of my floor lineup and added Konnor, so really hoping Konnor goes again this week. Luisa’s shoulder is taped, so surprised she did bars.
Karis German needs to be in more lineups!!!
I do love College gymnastics judging. It is almost as if they decide before the meet, “Damn you Elite judges for lowballing Leanne Wong. We will make sure she shines like the top of the Chrysler Building here in NCAA” and scoring follows.
Florida going over 49.5 on that beam rotation is hilaaaarious
What’s funnier in Gainesville? The scores themselves or the way that John keeps screwing them up 😂
When ESPN was pointing out Florida gymnastics alumni in the arena for alumni night, they highlighted one of the judges. So one of the judges is a former UF gymnast . . . I’m sure there is no bias at all.
I’m at the mizzou LSU meet in Columbia Mo and I’ve never seen the Hearnes with such a crowd for either gymnastics or volleyball. It’s going to be an exciting meet!
Florida shouldn’t have been close to winning this meet with their performance on Balance Beam and Floor. Morgan Hurd finally receiving a score she is actually worth.
Raina Worley finally got a 10 on floor. Rupp arena was electric tonight. I just finished watching lsu v mizzou. I can’t wait to see mizzou in Rupp 2 weeks from now. For Kentucky 2 10s at a home meet wow we have not had that happen since the great Jenny Hansen. I hope Kentucky and Mizzou make night session at the secs
Honestly I think it could be Arkansas, Mizz, and Kentucky in the PM session with LSU or Bama.
I think LSU is the best team in the SEC followed by Kentucky but LSU is still working out consistency.
Would love for one of the three to win their first ever SEC title. Kentucky would be a well deserved champion.
