ARKANSAS VAULT 2019
Lineup locks: Amanda Elswick, Sarah Shaffer, Sydney McGlone, Kennedy Hambrick, Jessica Yamzon
Lineup options: Savannah Pennese, Hailey Garner, Katarina Derrick

Arkansas still won’t have a surplus of options on vault this year but should be more comfortable than the “wait, do we even have 5?” days of last season. Amanda Elswick will bring a lineup-leading 1.5, McGlone will be back with her full, and Hambrick will bring at least a full, all of which should help bump up the scoring.

ARKANSAS BARS 2019
Lineup locks: Hailey Garner, Sarah Shaffer, Sydney Laird
Lineup options: Jessica Yamzon, Bailey Lovett, Michaela Burton, Sophia Carter, Kennedy Hambrick

Arkansas will have some work to do on bars, the team’s highest-scoring piece last year but an event where the absences of Speed and Wellick will be felt the most acutely. Garner is the best bars worker on the team, I expect to see Laird and Shaffer back, and Yamzon does the AA every week. Burton didn’t do bars last year but was a constant in the lineup in 2017. Of the freshmen, I’m excited to see what Lovett can potentially deliver here.

ARKANSAS BEAM 2019
Lineup locks: Sophia Carter, Michaela Burton, Jessica Yamzon, Amanda Elswick
Lineup options: Hailey Garner, Sarah Shaffer, Kennedy Hambrick, Sydney Laird, Sydney McGlone,

Arkansas had some huge moments on beam last season, especially those meets when Carter would score a 99 million and you were like, “hey now.” With five of six routines returning from the final 2018 lineup, the introduction of Elswick and potentially Hambrick, and options that didn’t make the final group last year like Shaffer’s, making up for not having Wellick in the lineup should be manageable.

ARKANSAS FLOOR 2019
Lineup locks: Sydney McGlone, Amanda Elswick, Sarah Shaffer, Sophia Carter
Lineup options: Jessica Yamzon, Kennedy Hambrick, Michaela Burton, Hailey Garner,

Arkansas fell off the pace compared to the top teams on floor last season, ranking just 20th and more often than not getting stuck in the just-OK territory of 9.825s. Of the freshmen, Elswick and Hambrick bring strong tumbling potential, and expect McGlone to return to this lineup as well, which should serve to beef up the power options and increase the frequency of 9.9s in this lineup.

KENTUCKY VAULT 2019
Lineup locks: Mollie Korth, Katie Stuart, Alex Hyland
Lineup options: Danaea Davis, Aubree Rosa, Alaina Kwan, Sydney Dukes, Cally Nixon, Josie Angeny

Kentucky finished 2018 ranked a solid 11th on vault, which was a good result for a lineup with one 10.0 start. This season, they’re hoping to add the 1.5 that Stuart has been training for a while to get out of the friend-zone of lower 9.8s and stay a little closer with the top SEC teams. Among the freshmen, Nixon had a powerful full during JO, so if we see someone new…

KENTUCKY BARS 2019
Lineup locks: Mollie Korth, Alex Hyland, Katie Stuart, Katrina Coca, Ella Warren
Lineup options: Sydney Dukes, Josie Angeny, Cally Nixon, Alaina Kwan, Hailey Poland

Kentucky returns its five best bars routines from last season, so there may not be need for much change here—though there is a single spot to fight for. Dukes competed bars in her first couple years, didn’t make the six last year, but has a reasonable routine that could come back to the lineup this time around.

KENTUCKY BEAM 2019
Lineup locks: Alex Hyland, Sydney Dukes, Mollie Korth, Hailey Poland
Lineup options: Katie Stuart, Josie Angeny, Alaina Kwan, Ella Warren, Megan Monfredi, Anna Haigis, Cally Nixon

Kentucky won’t have to worry about major replacement tasks until next season, and that is borne out by an almost entirely intact lineup on Kentucky’s most impressive event, beam. Angeny looks like a reasonable entrant into the squad to replace the one lost routine from 2018, and Kwan did show some beam routines last year to keep herself in as an option.

KENTUCKY FLOOR 2019
Lineup locks: Mollie Korth, Sydney Dukes, Alex Hyland, Ella Warren
Lineup options: Hailey Poland, Katie Stuart, Cally Nixon, Megan Monfredi, Aubree Rosa

Floor was Kentucky’s highest-scoring piece in 2018, and with little overall change expected in this lineup as well, I see no reason for that to change in 2019. Stuart wasn’t in the lineup on vault or floor at the end of last year, but she did compete as an every-week all-arounder in her first seasons and could return here.  We haven’t seen a ton of other roster members on floor before, but I expect at least a little room to play around.

AUBURN VAULT 2019
Lineup locks: Derrian Gobourne, Gracie Day, Drew Watson, Jada Glenn
Lineup options: Taylor Krippner, A’Miracal Phillips, Katie Becker, Skyler Sheppard, Reid Schaefer, Sydney Bassett

Auburn should be in nice shape on vault this year, returning the three Y1.5s from last season and adding Gobourne, who vaulted a very believable 1.5 in JO. That’s top-8 level vault difficulty as long as the landings are there. And as long as the supporting fulls for 9.8+ are there. To improve on last year’s occasionally pedestrian vault scores, those early fulls can’t be 9.725s again. The 1.5s can’t be working against a sub-49 pace.

AUBURN BARS 2019
Lineup locks: Abby Milliet, Sam Cerio, Gracie Day
Lineup options: Drew Watson, Kendal Moss, Derrian Gobourne, Molly Frack, Taylor Krippner, Katie Becker

Mimicking vault, Auburn should be able to deliver some huge scores at the end of the bars lineup, boasting three returners with frequent 9.9 ability. I don’t expect a ton of change in this group compared to last year when just seven people competed in the six spots all season, though Auburn will hope the freshmen provide a little more depth.

AUBURN BEAM 2019
Lineup locks: Abby Milliet, Taylor Krippner, Emma Slappey
Lineup options: Derrian Gobourne, Sam Cerio, Molly Frack, Allie Riddle, Meredith Sylvia, Drew Watson, Katie Becker, Skyler Sheppard, Reid Schaefer

Auburn isn’t losing any competition routines from last year, and nowhere is that more influential than beam where the legitimate routine possibilities should be pouring out the sides of the gym. Milliet and Krippner are the stars and 9.9 possibilities, but I hope to see Frack and Gobourne make it into the group, providing some real competition for spots among the returners.

AUBURN FLOOR 2019
Lineup locks: Abby Milliet, Derrian Gobourne, Gracie Day, Emma Slappey, Drew Watson
Lineup options: Sam Cerio, Ashley Smith, Skyler Sheppard, Jada Glenn, Katie Becker, Molly Frack, Reid Schaefer

As she will on vault, Derrian Gobourne is expected to slide into the back of the floor lineup and provide an extra big score that Auburn did not have access to last season, bumping out the weakest routine from last season’s six. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s not too much change to the competition group beyond that since the best-scoring four from 2018 all seem likely to return.

MISSOURI VAULT 2019
Lineup locks: Britney Ward, Hannah McCrary, Morgan Porter, Aspen Tucker
Lineup options: Madeleine Huber, Belle Gottula, Allison Bower, Frances Bidwill

Missouri will be looking to add a second 10.0 start to its vault lineup this year with Hannah McCrary bringing a Y1.5 to join Britney Ward in the 10.0 club. Hopefully we’ll see more from Gottula this year as well as a possibility to round out the lineup. The freshman Bidwill also showed a 1.5 at times in JO.

MISSOURI BARS 2019
Lineup locks: Madeleine Huber, Morgan Porter, Aspen Tucker
Lineup options: Becca Schugel, Brooke Kelly, Mya Cotner, Allison Bower, Hannah McCrary

Missouri returns four from last year’s final lineup, among which Huber and Porter will be expected to lead the way again, ideally along with the readdition of Becca Schugel who is returning from injury. Tucker and Kelly will be back, though there may have to be some experimentation to find a strong score for the final spot since this group is a little light on depth. Freshman Mya Cotner is a possibility.

MISSOURI BEAM 2019
Lineup locks: Britney Ward, Brooke Kelly, Morgan Porter
Lineup options: Becca Schugel, Aspen Tucker, Allison Bower, Belle Gottula, Mary Nicholson, Lauren Clevenger, Hannah McCrary

Missouri isn’t compelled to change too much in the beam lineup, losing just one routine from last year and bringing back Becca Schugel who competed beam frequently in the past. But because beam wasn’t an intensely high score for Missouri last year, they may also want to experiment with the likes of Gottula, Nicholson, and other depth options (there are several more choices here than on vault or bars) to see who can get out of the 9.7s.

MISSOURI FLOOR 2019
Lineup locks: Aspen Tucker, Morgan Porter
Lineup options: Becca Schugel, Madeleine Huber, Michalee Turner, Allison Bower, Belle Gottula, Mary Nicholson, Brooke Kelly, Frances Bidwill, Hannah McCrary

I wouldn’t say there are too many locks in Missouri’s floor lineup this year beyond Tucker since there are a number of pretty similar 9.800 possibilities in this lineup. But like beam, Missouri loses just one routine from last year’s lineup, and if Schugel’s health permits by the end of the season, they’ll want her in the floor group.
