Starting with Michigan against Ohio State today. As Michigan endeavors to climb back up the rankings after that 195 start, they’ll be looking to beat Ohio State by more than .325 today to move ahead of them in the rankings.

Rotation 1

Grimes – VT – Ohio St – yfull, solid distance, some leg separation at the end, small amount of pike, small hop back. 9.825

Waitttttt is this one of those only show the home team broadcasts?

Mintz – VT – Ohio St – yfull, larger bounce back than Grimes but also some more height. 9.800.

OK now we’re seeing Michigan. At least, we’re seeing Vore wait for 90 minutes to go.

Vore – UB – Michigan – following 9.825 for Morrison – good first hs – toe on to tkatchev, solid height – short cast hs on high – comes in shy of vertical on overshoot – clean DLO. 9.800

Washington – VT – Ohio St – best control so far on her yfull, small movement back, some form at the end – and it’s 9.875, so judges willing to go there so far on vault.

Wilson – UB – Michigan – tight first hs, short of vertical – hits piked jaeger – bail, hit – some hip angle in final cast hs – nice DLO in the air, step back. 9.825

Riccardi – VT – Ohio St – similar yfull to the rest of the gang, bounce back, solid distance and direction, stepping up the layout shape. 9.875

It’s rare to get judges to go to 9.900 for a yfull with a bounce, but Ohio State have had a couple do it so far. The .05 for a landing bounce is a judgment call there, supposed to be for only the very smallest movement. I think it was last year in the educational video about vault where the judge leading it said that .05 is for a schooch because that’s the level of specificity we have in college judging. WAS IT A SCOOCH OR NOT?

Zabrowski – UB – Michigan – hits first hs – piked jaeger, solid, some flexed feet – pak is quite clean – DLO, lunge back. 9.775

Harris – VT – Ohio St – solid on her Y1.5, small hop forward, some slight knees at the end. 9.900

Bauman – UB – Michigan – tow 1/2 to jaeger, lovely amplitude into overshoot, excellent – good final cast hs – blind to double front , stuck. Big step up from the first four routines. 9.950

Vetter – VT – Ohio St – yfull, best amplitude of the gang, can open a little at the end, bounce back. 9.850. Would have liked to see some separation from the early fulls to reward the amplitude and shape, but it was also a tenth on landing.

Brooks – UB – Michigan – piked jaeger, hit, good distance this week – solid hs – toe on to bail, small arch in vertical, brings it back – good final cast hs – DLO 1/1, hop forward. 9.825

Gregory in exhibition spot with a Y1.5 that looks like an option for Ohio State. Marr is doing bars exhibition for Michigan, nice legs together on maloney, bail is shy of vertical, which is probably what’s keeping her out of the lineup (and a step on DLO), because lovely leg form and handstands.

After 1:
Ohio State 49.325
Michigan 49.225

Michigan trailing by a tenth early, a little ragged in the handstands in those early bars routines, which kept them in the low 9.8s. Ohio State will have a chance to beat Michigan’s bars scores there if they’re on with the handstands.

Rotation 2

Guggino – VT – Michigan – hits her y1.5, large lunge forward though. 9.775

Pritchard – UB – Ohio St – toe on to gienger, nice leg form throughout but a close catch, still able to connect to overshoot – shorter hs on high bar – nice full turn finish into double tuck, small step movement. 9.775

Commentators tell us that the judges don’t want you to look shocked that you hit a skill. Tell that to Friday’s SEC scores.

Mulligan – VT – Michigan – y1.5, struggles with it today, large lunge and an additional step and a bit more loose form in the air. 9.700

Washington – UB – Ohio St – some loose back in first hs – maloney, good amplitude into pak, hit – solid finish position on 1/2 turn on low – giant full is past into double tuck, bounce back. 9.825

Morrison – VT – Michigan – y1.5, sticks it, very good. That’s what Michigan needed after the first two. 9.950

Vetter – UB – Ohio St – high tkatchev but kind of close, like she’s almost going to clip her foot – clear hip – bail, toe point good, rushing those verticals a little – FTDT, stuck. 9.825

Wilson – VT – Michigan – y1.5 and also sticks it. She has more pop than Morrison but also came in just a little on her heels, we’ll see what she goes – 9.950

Harris – UB – Ohio St – good first hs – Ray, very slight bit of elbows on catch but solid – bail, leg separation in the air, gets to vertical – giant full, good finish position, into double tuck, stuck. 9.900

Brooks – VT – Michigan – can’t keep the stick train going on her y1.5, lunge back and off direction somewhat. 9.825

Riccardi – UB – Ohio St – lovely first hs – toe on to Ray, best tkatchev work so far – pak, legs together, little pike to catch – 1/2 turn on low, solid – good hs on high – double tuck, holds onto stick with a lean. 9.875

Jordan – VT – Michigan – yfull, lands short, chest down, lunge forward and to the side. 9.625

McCann – UB – Ohio St – some angle in first hs – hits Ray, toe on to pak, solid – 1/2 turn on low, a bit past her 20 degrees – well short on final cast hs with some pike – giant full is past into double tuck. Potential in the release elements but score will get knocked for handstand positions. or should. 9.825 is very high.

After 2:
Ohio State 98.575
Michigan 98.425

A deeply mixed bag for Michigan on vault, with two excellent ones from Morrison and Wilson but also some weak landings that had to count in there for a 49.200, dropping a bit more ground to Ohio State. Going to get tough for Michigan if they can’t use the third rotation to take a lead.

Rotation 3

Pritchard – BB – Ohio St – hitch kick to side aerial, secure – full turn, smooth – bhs loso series, comfortable landing – beat to straddle jump 3/4, large break, leg up to horizontal and a lean back, pulls it back – 1.5 dismount, some leg separation, good stick. 9.700

Bauman – FX – Michigan – front 2/1, good form, bit large on the slide forward – switch 1/2 to wolf full to wolf full, good clear landing positions – back 1.5 to layout, got flat in the layout, but controlled the landing. 9.825

Hankins – BB – Ohio St – full turn, hit – bhs loso series, small lean correction – kickover, holds onto it well – switch to split 1/4, back leg looked a bit low in that switch – 2/1, small hop forward. 9.850

Mulligan – FX – Michigan – front tuck through to double tuck, gets ejected from the floor, large bounce back and OOB – switch side 3/4 to a straddle jump – double pike, chest down, slide back. 9.575

OOB is all 0.1 in NCAA, just in case you needed that information. Ahem.

Harris – BB – Ohio St – switch to straddle 1/4, hit – full turn, smooth – aerial, keeps arms moving into back tuck, a little slow, secure back tuck landing – 2/1, holds onto landing with a bit of a lean. 9.925

Guggino – FX – Michigan – front through to double pike, large lunge back but keeps that front foot under control – switch side to popa, hit – front lay to rudi, good rise on rudi, slide back on landing. 9.875

Vetter – BB – Ohio St – full turn, good – bhs loso, good back leg extension in that series – beat to side aerial, hit – switch to straddle 1/4, good straddle shape there, possible .05 rhythm in between – really struggles on 1.5 dismount and is like FML, deep squat and multiple lunges back. No fake-lie facial expression after that one, which I appreciate. But also did not do the finish position. 9.625

Morrison – FX – Michigan – tuck jump full – FTDT, comfortable, a hop to the side landing present – switch 1/2 to wolf full – front tuck through to double tuck, solid control on landing. 9.900

Hodges – BB – Ohio St – standing switch jump to split 3/4, lovely – bhs loso, hit, covers check with a quick arm wave – full turn, good – standing loso, another small check – 1.5 dismount, holds onto a nice stick. 9.950. A couple covers that worked on the judges in there.

Brooks – FX – Michigan – FTDT, big stick – tuck jump full – split leap full to split jump full, good positions – front full through to double tuck, rebound back there, so not a 10 but should go up on Morrison. 9.950.

McCann – BB – Ohio St – ro layout two feet and falls this week – switch to split jump, nice – beat – full turn, comfortable – 1.5 dismount, step forward.

Wilson – FX – Michigan – open FTDT, controls the landing well today, hops into position in place – switch side 1/2 to straddle jump – front lay to rudi, keeps front foot down. 9.925

After 3:
Michigan 147.900
Ohio State 147.625

Michigan takes the lead after 3 with a 49.475 floor, able to drop the Mulligan routine and stay in good shape for a 197 with anything normal on beam. It was Ohio State’s turn for a deeply mixed bag rotation there on beam, two big routines from Harris and Hodges, but also a fall and a counting 9.700 and 9.625.

Rotation 4

Mulligan – BB – Michigan – hits full turn – good extension on aerial, gets the connection into bhs – beat to straddle jump 1/2, good straddle, little landing correction – side aerial, hit – bhs tuck 1.5, stuck. 9.900

Grimes – FX – Ohio St – double pike, controls step back – back 1.5 to layout, low layout, has to tuck it to get to her feet – switch side 1/4 to straddle 3/4 – double tuck, chest down, lunge forward. 9.800

Guggino – BB – Michigan – full turn – bhs loso, secure – straddle jump to straddle 1/2, hit – side somi, holds, very small lean – bhs layout 1.5 dismount, big lunge. 9.875

Washington – FX – Ohio St – double pike, very nice, chest up – front lay to front full, bit of knees, slide forward – split leap full to wolf full, solid – double tuck, controls front foot. 9.900

Wilson – BB – Michigan – good hitch kick – bhs loso, the height, secure landing – split jump to switch split jump, hit – full turn, hesitation correction – double tuck dismount , step back. 9.875, so one judge only took for the back tuck step and not the full turn check for 9.900, which is not a possible score here.

Mintz – FX – Ohio St – FTDT, – split leap full to popa, some lack of control in traveling – front lay to front full, some knee – double tuck, large bounce back, good save to avoid going OOB but a very large bounce. 9.800

Vore – BB – Michigan – bhs loso, hit, a bit low and some foot flexing – kickover, holds it – straddle to straddle 1/2 to beat is secure – 1.5 dismount, small step. 9.825

Vetter – FX – Ohio St – double tuck, good control – split leap full to popa to popa, very precise – front lay to rudi, keeps feet under control – not the biggest tumbling we’ll see but very clean and smooth. 9.900

Bauman – BB – Michigan – full turn, hit – bhs loso, secure landing – sissone to switch 1/2 to beat, a little under on switch 1/2 position, solid landing – side somi, nice – gainer pike dismount, hop forward. 9.875

Harris – FX – Ohio St – front 2/1 to front tuck, slide forward – tuck jump full – switch side to popa, pre-turns her popa some – double pike, bounce back. 9.875

Brooks – BB – Michigan – bhs loso loso, right on – switch to beat, solid – kickover, strong – bhs 2/1, holds onto it. And it’s 9.975.

Hodges – FX – Ohio St – double pike, small front foot movement – split leap full to popa to popa, shows lovely extension – rudi to loso, clean landing. 9.925

FINAL:
Michigan 197.400
Ohio State 197.025

Michigan takes the win for what they’ll consider a medium performance but a fine road score to have in there. Ohio State down a tad on last week’s home debut and will fall just behind Michigan in the rankings, Michigan’s average now a 197.000 and Ohio State’s a 196.983. That will see Michigan move up to 10th in the in-progress rankings and Ohio State fall to 11th. But UCLA and Denver both have a chance to pass both of them coming up in a second.

Denver is looking for 197.275 to move ahead of Michigan and into the top 10, while UCLA is looking for 197.375.

Meanwhile, Oregon State has Jade listed in the vault lineup.

  1. Please tell me you saw Katelyn Rosen doing the elite walk off the floor for intros
  2. Please tell me you saw Ragan Smith kind of trip over some loose crutches on the ground, which is 2024 in gymnastics as a moment.

Clemson and Pitt are already underway here, Wells leading off vault for Clemson with a yfull, comes in short, tried to sell the stick with a lean but ended up hopping forward. 9.725

Ewing – UB – Pitt – blind to piked jaeger, good amplitude – clear hip to bail, small leg separation in the air – short cast hs on high – giant full into double tuck, small hop. 9.750

Jackson – VT – Clemson – yfull, nice distance, large bounce back and then an additional small step. 9.800. .150 on landing, so I guess they didn’t take anything else.

Duke – UB – Pitt – maloney with a straddle in pak, leg separation – short cast hs on high – giant full into double tuck, step back.

Arnold hits a Y1.5 in the third spot for Clemson, some knees at the end, shuffle back with both feet. 9.800

Lerro – UB – Pitt – short first hs – toe on to maloney to overshoot, some elbow bending on overshoot catch – shy on high bar hs – double front step back.

OK we’re underway with the Denver quad.

Brusch – VT – Denver – good open on yfull, slide back

Emily Lee on beam for UCLA – hits a clean loso series – switch to straddle, right on – bhs gainer full, stuck. Really good opener. 9.850

Audrey Davis starts floor for Oklahoma, controls the lunge forward on her front 2/1 – back 1.5 to front full, solid control, some knees –

Mabanta – VT – Denver – nice legs together throughout on her yfull, slide back. 9.850

Gutierrez on bars fro Stanford today, hits her double front 1/2 dismount with a step back.

Rosen – BB – UCLA – switch to split, hit – aerial to beat, smooth – bhs loso, well done – 2/1 dismount, large bounce back. Strong until then.

Ulrich hits handspring pike 1/2 vault for Denver, pretty large bounce back.

Hawthorne – FX – OU – high double pike, shows better control on landing – split leap full to jump full, a bit of travel in there – front lay to rudi to split jump, just a little ragged at the end there.

Andres – BB – UCLA – lovely switch 1/2, wobble on loso, leg up – kickover, a bit deep but keeps moving into Korbut, off line slightly – 2/1 dismount, chest down, step forward.

Alexeeva with a lovely piked jaeger on bars, short hs after that, clean pak – better hs on high – DLO, step back.

Stuck Y1.5 from Casali on vault, just some knee position throughout. 9.950

Smith – FX – OU – open double tuck, controls her step back, some legs apart position in the air – 1.5 to layout – switch side to wolf full – bounce back on final double pike

Harris – BB – UCLA – bhs loso bhs, right on – switch to split leap, nice – kickover front, wobble, pulls it back – 1.5 dismount is short with a lunge back.

Widner with a pretty one on bars, good handstands to finish for Stanford, holds onto DLO stick with a lean.

Denver done on 49.325 for vault.

Malabuyo – BB – UCLA – hits wolf turn – bhs loso, nice – aerial to beat jump, smooth – comfortable on the split ring jump – gainer full, stuck, nice one. 9.925

Levasseur finishes her floor with a comfortable back 1.5 to 1/2 to straddle jump, under control.

Neault hits bars this week for Stanford with a toe full, a bit late, into double tuck, stuck. So, um, kind of a much better bars rotation this week.

Alipio – BB – UCLA – aerial, keeps moving into loso, came in short on that so did well to avoid a major error, just a little correction and some body position – switch split leap and beat combination is nice – gainer tuck full, stuck. Good. 9.825

Torrez – FX – OU – DLO, excellent – leg up hop full is real – split leap full to wolf full, around well – front tuck through to double tuck, out of control with a lunge back. 9.850

Esparza doing beam exhibition for UCLA, good full turn – side aerial to bhs, hit well, just some feet, secure – switch 1/2, a bit low into beat jump – gainer full, holds onto the stick. Lineup when?

Bowers – FX – OU – front 2/1 to front tuck, lovely, great height – double pike, hops a bit to the side on landing – switch to switch 1/2 to wolf full, wonderful

After 1:
Oklahoma 49.550
Denver 49.325
Stanford 49.250
UCLA 49.200

Big lead for Oklahoma after 1 rotation, not much of a surprise. Stanford with an important good one on bars. UCLA with a couple off dismounts on beam that took several scores down that would have been huge.

Clemson goes 49.150 in the first rotation to lead Pitt. Jackson goes up int he 2nd spot, good amplitude on jaeger to overshoot – hits cast hs on high – FTDT, hop back. Some feet and pike shape here and there. 9.825

Ward – VT – Pitt – nice power on yfull, step back, some piking in hips. 9.750

Lippeatt – UB – Clemson – good first hs vertical – Ray to pak, nice amplitude – maybe a bit shy on 1/2 turn on low – hits cast hs on high – giant full is past vertical into a double tuck, slide back. 9.800

Anand – VT – Pitt – handspring pike 1/2, hits, chest forward and a lunge back and to the side. What is Casey Jo giving them after vault, and is it polaroids? 9.775

DeGuzman – UB – Clemson – good first hs – blind to jaeger to overshoot, gorgeous foot positions as always – a bit shy on final cast hs – DLO, legs apart, step back. 9.800

Bedminster – VT – Pitt – good solid yfull, medium lunge back. 9.800

Rutherford – UB – Clemson – hits first hs – Ray, hit, some foot flexing – solid hs – bail, a pike on the way, gets to vertical in the end – DLO, small step back. 9.750

Duke – VT – Pitt – yfull, comes in lower, chest forward with a hop to the side. 9.775

Brown – UB – Clemson – shaposh with leaps apart, connects to bail, some hip piking, gets to vertical – DLO, legs apart, step forward.

Rotation 2

Dean – BB – Stanford – side aeiral to loso is hit – finishes 1.5 dismount, step forward.

Casali sticks DLO on bars in leadoff spot. Davis has 9.825 on vault for Oklahoma.

Malabuyo – FX – UCLA – double tuck, controls step back – back 1.5 to front lay, comfortable, little leg separation in the air – switch ring to switch 1/2, excellent – double pike, chest a bit forward, presents.

Big leg up wobble for Nguyen on beam for Stanford.

Scheible – VT – OU – very strong stick on her handspring pike 1/2. 9.950

Levassuer – VT – OU – Y1.5, beautiful and stuck, it looked like from our very far away angle. 9.950

Bowers – VT – OU – Y1.5, also gets the stick on hers, looked like a bit of knee positions. Third 9.950 in a row.

Lee – FX – UCLA – double tuck, hit – front lay to front full, low amplitude, step to the side – switch ring to switch 1/2, excellent – doubel pike, chest down, controls the step.

Wells – VT – OU – ends the stick streak with a large bound forward.

Hebinck finishes a big bars routine with a slide back on DLO for Denver. 9.875

Torrez – VT – OU – Y1.5, shuffle forward with two feet on her landing, not big.

Moors – FX – UCLA – front 2/1 to front tuck, looked high enough, ended up stepping back – rudi with some rebound back. 9.900

Hutchinson – UB – Denver – maloney to pak, legs together, lower amplitude on pak – rushes 1/2 turn on low a bit – DLO, pretty leg position and stuck. 9.875

It’s a 49.600 vault for Oklahoma with three 9.950s.

Alexeeva with a beam fall for Stanford on her bhs loso loso, so they have two counting 9.6s then.

Mundell – UB – Denver – good first hs – tkatchev, great feet – hits next hs – toe on to bail, solid – DLO, ever so slight left foot movement. Very strong. 9.900

Harris – FX – UCLA – DLO, under control, chest up, good choice – split leap full to popa, shows splits – double tuck, chest up – 1.5 to 1/2 to double stag. Good one. 9.950

Widner – BB – Stanford – good loso series – aerial, long and a bit flat, large wobble, leg up to horizontal – side aerial, another hesitation into a kind of weird beat jump and she covered and kept moving – bhs gainer full, holds onto the stick.

49.450 bars for Denver. Stanford goes 48.475 on beam with three 9.6s.

Reed – FX – UCLA – DLO, chest up well, good form, quick present – split leap full to wolf jump full, around clearly – front lay to rudi, small shuffle stagger on landing. 9.925

Trinidad doing beam exhibition for Stanford, pretty split positions and extension, some wobbles in here – high gainer full, hop back.

Campbell – FX – UCLA – FTDT, a little forward again, not as much as last week – split leap full to popa, very clear split and finish positions – front lay to front full with a slide – double tuck. 9.925

After 2:
Oklahoma 99.150
Denver 98.775
UCLA 98.775
Stanford 97.725

Oklahoma said we’re going to stick half the vaults today, so they’re well over 198 pace through the first two events. UCLA moves up into a tie with Denver for second after their best event, going a casual 49.575 on floor.

Over in Clemson land, they’re working against a 9.200 on beam in the 2nd spot but have Kuhl up 4th, hit bhs bhs loso series, good save on kickover front, was deep and a couple steps forward but kept them on the beam – 1.5 dismount, hop to the side. 9.475 which will count.

Bedminster 4th on floor for Pitt – double tuck, front foot comes up some – switch side 1/2 to straddle jump shushunova, like it – back 1.5 to layout, hit.

Wells – BB – Clemson – full turn, hit – switch to split leap 3/4, pretty smooth – bhs loso, secure, some knee form – 2/1, bounce back. 9.850

Todd – FX – Pitt – double pike, secure landing, some feet – front lay to front full, good rise out of the lay into a higher full, knees – switch 1/2 to wolf full, around – double tuck, chest down, lunge forward. 9.800

McCright – BB – Clemson – full turn – bhs loso, nice foot positions – tuck jump full to beat jump, gets it around, minor arm position correction – side aerial to split jump, keeps moving into combination – gainer full, stuck. 9.900

Clemson goes 48.750 on beam to go a bit under 196 pace.

Rotation 3

Iwai – BB – Denver – switch, small hesitation before straddle 1/4 – bhs loso loso, solid landing – 9.775

Lee – VT – UCLA – yfull, bounce back. 9.825

Sievers with a hit bars for Oklahoma, good final cast hs – FTDT, small step back. 9.875

Anastasi – VT – UCLA, yfull, good height and open but a large lunge back and additional slide. 9.725

Mabanta – BB – Denver – wolf single, good – bhs loso, secure – larger break on switch 1/2 with a leg up – and no another large break on switch split, breaks connection into split jump to beat jump – gainer pike, step forward. 9.475

Rosen – VT – UCLA – hits Y1.5, hop forward, some knee position. 9.850

Zeng – FX – Stanford – good control on rudi landing –

Campbell – VT – UCLA – yfull, huge of course, small bounce back –

Torrez – UB – OU – good tkatchev – misses her next cast hs – high pak, comes in a little close but covers well DLO, holds onto the stick.

Ulrich – BB – Denver – bhs loso series, solid – switch to switch 1/2, good horizontal position there – aerial into beat jump –

Harris – VT – UCLA – great height on Y1.5 but a very large bound forward. 9.825

Smith – UB – OU – good first hs – Ray to pak, strong – 1/2 turn on low, holds onto her vertical position – DLO, some piking, not as bad, bounce back.

Reed – VT – UCLA – Y1.5, a bit short with a step back, off direction as well

Mundell – BB – Denver – solid bhs loso series – switch to switch 1/2, seemed off line the whole series, and then a large leg up wobble there – 1.5 dismount, hop forward.

Davis – UB – OU – good first hs – higgins to piked jaeger, excellent – hits hs on high – pak, legs togher – 1/2 turn on low – higgins to double frotn 1/2, tries to hold onto landing with an arm lean.

Looked over to Anyimi’s exhibition on vault to see her rolling around next to the mat, so that’s probably not a good sign. She seems fine.

Thompson – BB – Denver – hits side aerial to bhs, a bit of knee position – switch to switch, on, not the splitiest splits – full turn, larger break, hips almost to horizontal – side aerial to 1.5, hop forward.

Bowers – UB – Denver – good first hs – blind to piked jaeger, very good – hs on high, solid – pak, legs together – good 1/2 turn on low bar – hits all cast hs  positions – FTDT, stuck landing. Watch out. It’s 9.950.

Neault – FX – Stanford – doubel pike, chest down, controls her step back – switch to split ring jump 1/2, a bit hoppy on landing that – rudi, some knees – 1.5 to layout, layout gets low, some knee tucking to get it.

Just 49.450 on bars for Oklahoma, so they’ll be burning someone.

A wobbly beam rotation for Denver puts them on 48.925 there, counting several 9.7s. UCLA was also very lungy on vault for 49.175, but that is enough to give them a 2nd-place advantage heading to the final event.

Widner – FX – Stanford – front lay to front full, slide forward – switch leap full, good, around – double pike, controls the step back – switch 1/2 to popa, lovely leap positions. 9.925

Nguyen finishes floor for Stanford, bounce back on her DLO, back 2.5 to front lay is nicely done. 9.800

After 3:
Oklahoma 148.600
UCLA 147.950
Denver 147.700
Stanford 146.950

Rotation 4

Davis – BB – OU – bhs loso, hit – aerial, sooth – finishes with a stuck 2/1

Campbell – UB – UCLA – maloney to bail, hit – solid cast hs on high – blind to double front, step forward. 9.825

Neault – VT – Stanford – full on back pike, bounce back

Malabuyo – UB – UCLA – maloney to pak, small leg break on maloney, nice pak – hits cast hs on high – FTDT, stuck. Good one.

Wells – BB – OU – change leg side aerial  – full turn with a wobble – switch to change leg switch jump – bhs loso, some knees in initiating the bhs – 1.5 dismount, stuck. 9.850

Davis ended up leading off beam with a 9.950 and a 10.000/9.900 split.

Rosen – UB – UCLA – maloney, some back form, into a clean pak – a little past on 1/2 turn on low bar – some angle in handstand – DLO, small hop back. 9.800

Nguyen – VT – Stanford – y1.5, hit with a hop forward.

Bowers – BB – OU – full turn, nice – bhs loso, nice – split leap to switch 1/2, nice switch position – 2/1 dismount, holds stick. 9.925

Gutierrez shows Y1.5 for Stanford on vault, small step. That will be enough to get Stanford a 196 despite beam.

Esparza peels off bars on her Bhardwaj.

Torrez – BB – OU – wolf jump, great – side aeiral to loso, high, holds it with small landing hesitation – switch to straddle jump, great – bhs gainer full, high and stuck. And it’s 9.975

FINAL:
Oklahoma – 198.325
Denver – 197.175
UCLA – 196.550
Stanford – 196.100

Oklahoma puts up a nearly Ball State-level performance here to go 198.325, top score in the country this year to keep comfortable control of the #1 ranking. Season high for Denver so far, so they’ll be pleased with that part, but it was a beam rotation away from being a giant home total.

UCLA will rue the missed opportunity here with a counting fall on bars for another mid-196. And kind of so will Stanford because even though the score is so much better this week, it was still basically a missed rotation on beam.

In other results, Clemson ended up on 196.200 to Pitt’s 194.775 to win that one with their second 196 in two meets. Oregon State is on mid-197 pace through two events at home against Brown.

  1. OK BTN+ I paid for ALL CONFERENCE access. Not gymnastics but across the parking lot OSU is about to beat Iowa women’s basketball!

  2. Can anyone share a list of the judges for this meet because the 9.9 / 10 split on beam for Audrey was suspicious This set of judges were keeping Oklahoma down. It is almost like they figure they will win regardless so they make sure they don’t get any 10.00s

    1. You can’t be serious. OU went 198.325 for a great meet and you think there was a judging conspiracy to keep OU down?!?! It’s already annoying that commentators constantly talk about “will this be a 10” for every routine without a major issue (looking at you ESPN) but now fans think judges are fixing the meet when they don’t go 10. We’ve reached insanity — fans are the new “Carol”.

      1. They made sure none of them received a ten . Any of those routines could have been given one if the Olympians had competed them . Scores go up . You know that going viral is how College gym stays relevant . Why do you think the Olympian and famous Elites receive them for bad routines (Konnor, Jade, etc… ) Stop playing dumb .

  3. Mraz is a racist .She threw bleach on someone . Only Libtards want to block the truth 🤣
